Advantages: Excellent wash, easy to clean filter, quiet
Disadvantages: None
I have owned a Hotpoint dishwasher for 12 years with a four month gap earlier this year when I made the mistake of buying a brand new Indesit. I won't bore you with the Indesit saga, save to say that in 4 months we had the man out 4 times, we had had the motor replaced once and a brand new l;aminated floor flooded three times! After this I demanded a full refund. With cash in my hand I trotted off to our local Tempo to choose a new one. Hotpoint had done me proud before. I looked up the original receipt of my old Hotpoint, which had been top of the range, and discovered that I had paid £475 for it twelve years ago. Amazing isn't it, how things come down in price!! I decided that I could manage without the top of the range model and plumped for the DWF 30. Looks: It is a nice design. There are a couple of colour choices but I went for the plain white. It has a simple push button control panel with warning lights for the rinsaid and salt.Everything is very smooth, with rounded edges. I was pleased to see that Hotpoint had not hugely changed the outward appearance over the years as it stands next to my 5 year old Hotpoint washing machine. You can still see that they are the same make and look quite smart. Programmes: There are 4 programmes, which should be enough for most people. 1. Pre wash/soak 2.quick wash 3.economy wash 4.normal wash The normal wash is at 65 degrees, which is what the super was was on my old model, so I think they have covered everything. The longest wash is approx 50 minutes and the shortest about half an hour. Inside: It is a twelve place setting, with two grey baskets and cutlery basket. It looks very smart- the advantage to grey is that you don't end up with stained , grotty tomatoey baskets like you can get sometimes with the white ones! Yes, I know you are supposed to rinse off the bits of sauce first, but surely you
might as well hand wash them?!! The bottom rack has an interesting feature in that the plate holders at the back will fold down flat out of the way, so that you can put large pans/ casseroles etc in without damaging the prongs. Years of use will bend them and two eventually snapped off in my old one. It was going strong apart from that! It has an adjustable height upper basket and a concealed element. There is a new stainless steel mesh filter. This is the easiest filter I have ever had to clean. It comes apart completely and fairly easily so you don't end up with bits stuck inside!! There are an upper and lower spray arm. Quality of wash: Brilliant! I cannot fault it, even with cheapo powder. The glasses absolutely gleam and there is no streaking. Baked on casseroles do not give it a problem. Economy: It has a B rating and will use less electricity than some! Noise: One of the quietest I have used. I wholeheartedly recommend this super dishwasher to you.
