Advantages: Great performance,, efficient

Disadvantages: Not the cheapest!

When our dishwasher broke last year we had to look around for a new appliance.

Now my husband is a proud kiwi so really wanted to get a Fisher and Paykel dish drawer appliance. We bought ours from 247 electrical and paid £550 which I guess is a lot for a dishwasher but it seems to be money well spent.

Design
The dish drawer is split into two drawers, each of which is a working dishwasher in its own right. It is a great silver colour so is very stylish looking.

Functions
There are 9 different washing cycles that you can use - normally we just use the 99 minute general wash but there is a quick wash, a glass wash and a 153 minute "really dirty saucepan" wash. You just open the drawer and press the button on the top to select the wash. As noted above it is two seperate washing machines so for a dinner party you can have the pans washing for 153 mins and do an express 20 minute wash for the plates - genius!

Economy

This has the highest water and power electricity efficiency ratings so are good for the environment. We seem to be using much less power since we bought this dishwasher.

Performance

Provided that you make sure that you keep it clean this works immediately.

Products

You should not use dishwasher tablets in this product, use dishwasher powder and rinse aid. You also need dishwasher salt but when it is needed a light comes on so you know exactly when to put it in.

Other advantages

The main advantage of this is that, if you live alone, or in a couple and don't use many dishes with a normal dishwasher you either have to put it on half empty or may have to wait several days to fill it. In that time there is a horrible smell and you can't use the dishes. The key advantage of this is that you only fill one level and then put it on so you only need half the dirty dishes to fill it!

Installation

It is well worth getting a plumber to do this for you. Getting a dishwasher installed can be tricky!

Overall

THis is an excellent product, although it is a little bit more expensive than other dishwashers. (touch wood) it is very reliable and is particularly suitable if you live alone or in a couple.

Highly recommended!

Good review here - although for future buyers it would be better to add in the actual capacity of each half. Then and only then could it actually be of any saving economically.

I like the idea of it though - do the doors open down the way with each part of this duo dishwasher? Easy to maintain / changing filters? Any lights that light up the interior when the door is opened?

I like the idea of having two smaller dishwashers
