Cannot believe how good the reviews are on this dishwasher. A whole 2 stars. This product is quite simply NOT fit for purpose. The cages both top and bottom judder when you pull or push them. The guide wheels constantly come offAnd finally IT DOES NOT WASH THE DISHES PROPERLYTotal waste of money, it's total rubbishDO NOT BUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How I agree with your previous reviewers - we had a Philips Whirlpool which was excellent and had been recommended by our kitchen fitters but eventually it gave up the ghost so was directed to Gorenje by local shop.It had been reliable so far, but very poor quality and only does a fair job of cleaning dishes. As previous contributors say the racks are very unstable and rather fragile. They frequently jam which causes the door seal to come loose.Another problem we have is that our plates and cutlery are too long to fit comfortably under the spray arm so it needs very carefull loading - we didn't have this problem with the Whirlpool so I do not see why when the dishwasher is the same size.Like previous contributor I cannot wait for it to break down as an excuse to change it !
I bought this dishwasher 13 months ago for £390 from rangecookers.co.uk online but have not been happy with at all. To quote from their site "In Germany, Gorenje [Gor-en-yer] is the third most popular brand, enjoying prestige equal to rivals Bosch and Neff. Gorenje are keen to see their UK market share grow, and their prices certainly reflect this enthusiasm. We believe this dishwasher is actually made by Bosch, and therefore represents great value, and it comes with a 2 year warranty"
I was replacing this as the current machine had a white panel that did not match the new kitchen. After reading the above I ordered the GV62110 Integrated model. I do not think that Bosch or Neff have anything to worry about with this competition however. It is definitely not of Bosch quality.
The upper pull out drawer is stiff and snags against the rubber door seal and this is chaffing away. The lower drawer is unbalanced and falls off its runners each time you pull it out, unless you really try hard not to. Putting plates in the front of the rack is a no-no as this guarantees that the rack will fall off the runners.
The bottom tray shows signs of rust through the plastic coating and this week the folding plate rack had one of the welds break on a plate support. Although guaranteed for two years the support is rubbish as the rack was described by them as cosmetic! Even though you cannot stack a plate in this position anymore, I suppose by the same argument you could drive your car if the door fell off but it's hardly what I call cosmetic.
I was told by the parts person that I would have to buy a whole new tray as they do not sell the individual part and this would cost about £45! I was also told to "Chill out man" when I suggested that they were rubbish parts anyway. I ask you is this customer support?
The capacity of the washer is also quite limited so any Eco friendly settings are worthless as we now regularly have to do two washes a day compared to the old machine's one a day and we are a family of just two.
My recommendation is steer well clear of this dishwasher .
My husband and I recently moved house and spent 3 months renovating our new home. I had a dishwasher in our last house and knew that no matter what else from my 'dream' kitchen I was to sacrifice, the dishwasher would not be it!
Now I will admit, that I was slightly mis-led as to how 'good' this dishwasher was by the gentleman at the kitchen design company. With all the work that was being completed on our new place, I just put my trust in him and never for one moment thought about doing on-line research - BIG MISTAKE.
Previously, I owned a NEFF dishwasher, and I think I may have been a little spoilt with that model.
The Gorneje GV62110 has 5 wash cycles, they are as follows; Intensive - however, on the two occasions I have used this cycle, the water from the last wash remains in the base of the dishwasher and does not drain once the cycle has completed, Normal - this is the one I use on a daily basis, Economy, Light and Soak.
The dishwasher overall is very easy to use and comes with a fully detailed manual.
The counterbalance on the bottom rack is non-existant - unlike my beloved old Neff - and once I pull the rack out to load, it falls back into the dishwasher. This proves extremely annoying at first, then you just get used to it and adapt.
I mentioned earlier that I use the Normal wash cycle daily, this is because it is the only one that loudly beeps to acknowledge the cycle has finished.
Overall, for the cost of the machine I would not recommend nor repurchase this make should the need arise. I have been left very dissapointed, however, I do not want the expense of replacing it whilst it works.
