I really don't see the point of dishwashers with a multitude of different features which actually requires studying the manual to understand. At the end of the day, dishwashers all accomplish the same task - obviously that is washing dishes. That being said, this model does have a few different settings for different items and also a range of temperatures which means that once again you can tailor the wash to whatever you have put in there.
As soon as the dishwasher had been plumbed in my the company who sold it to us and after we had eaten sufficient food, we were ready to test it out. Hotpoint surprised me when it came to this point as they included free samples of dishwasher products so that I could actually not have to worry about buying anything else for the first time.
The dishwasher usually cleans dishes (and anything else we put in there) perfectly no matter what tablets or rinse aid I use with it - I have used expensive Finish tablets to cheap Tesco ones and the dishwasher still produces excellent results. The only issue it occasionally has is with burnt on food on things such as saucepans. However I suspect that pretty much all dishwashers would struggle with this. The dishwasher at least removes some of this burnt on food.
What I loved about this model over my previous one was that it has an LCD display which shows the progress of the wash and also aids you in setting the dishwasher up beforehand. Before I had this dishwasher, I had one where the only indication of the time remaining was a turning dial which obviously can be pretty inaccurate and it is not possible to tell when it will complete. The LCD screen on this dishwasher shows the progress of the dishwasher throughout the wash and I really like this.
It is very quiet too, far quieter than many I have came across. Usually dishwashers can be heard across multiple rooms because of the water shooting in and out of the machine and being hurled around the insides by spinning blades. Although all of this happens with this Hotpoint, it does it far quieter and it is only really noticeable in the same room as it is in.
Well I have been a lucky girl this Christmas, I was well and truly spoilt by everyone and got some really great gifts. This Hotpoint dishwasher was my not-very-romantic gift from my other half, but I was very pleased to get it and so will not complain. He bought it from Currys and I know that it is one of their cheaper brands, but I don't think we need to spend a lot of money on a dishwasher. When it arrived, it was installed for us but the delivery people and we soon were having a look through the manuals. The interior was all shiny and new. We have never owned a dishwasher before, but we found it easy enough to use and were soon up and running with the free samples that were included.
I have to say I was reasonably impressed with its cleaning ability, we scrape all of our plates before loading them up, but don't rinse them. They have come out shiny and clean every time we have used it since Christmas. The cutlery also is consistently clean and shiny, although we often give it a polish with a tea-towel when it comes out. Glasses weren't cleaned quite as well, and they often had a few water marks on them, but to be honest for everyday use we really are not that bothered about this.
One feature we particularly like is the fact that you can set it wash just a half load. Seeing as there are only two of us this means that we don't have to wait to fill it right up before we use it. It also means that we don't need loads of crockery to make up for the stuff in the dishwasher. We run our dishwasher at night and being in a flat the kitchen is next to our bedroom, however this on has a super silent feature and we have never been disturbed by it running when we are in bed. It also has a time delay function, so we can set it go when our electricity is at it's cheapest after 7pm. Finally it has an A energy rating, so it doesn't use masses of electricity and rack up our energy bills.
All in all a great, budget dishwasher that we think is a welcome addition to our kitchen!
We bought this dishwasher to replace a previous Miele which broke down and we could not afford to replace like for like due to high costs of the brand.
I persuaded my partner that we did not need a fancy brand to wash our dishes and that any brand would do the job as well as each other. This was not quite the case, and left me feeling a little red faced.
It arrived via currys in a very large packaging and was assembled by the helfpul handy drivers! It looked fine. Was white, stylish, with buttons and the inside was clean and sparkling and complete with instructions and a selection of Finish dishwashing samples; tablets and dishwashing cleaner. On first test this product was good but not as good as the Miele. It didnt quite was glasses as well and left a few things watermarked. At a third of the price I know I shouldve expected less than the quality of a Miele but I do wish that I had just spent an extra £150 and bought a better working brand
We brought this dishwasher as a Christmas present from our families. BIG MISTAKE!! It is unreliable and despite having the Hotpoint Engineers out at least 3 times in the 1st year now it is out of warranty it is still not working properly and will only wash when on a half load cycle of anything but economy. Really would recommend at all!
