This product from Hotpoint is simply amazing, one of the best dishwashers I have purchased. An inexpensive purchase from prices of around £299 to £399, you will surely not regret choosing this Hotpoint product as your dishwasher. Some older models of this dishwasher have reliability issues, along with other Hotpoint products, however I cannot say that this is an issue for me. This dishwasher is incredibly fast and sometimes, depending on load, I can manage to get my dishes dry within an hour!
Whilst a good product, definitely ensure you keep the dishwasher clean and well maintained, as they are susceptible and average wear and tear, and you may have to buy an entirely new dishwasher if you do not care for it, so be sure to keep it clean and operational.
This product is quite cheap, and by shopping around you can be sure to pick up a great bargain, as Hotpoint are truly a brand leader, and I personally have dealt with their customer service, and they were friendly and helpful, so do not be afraid to deal with or contact them, they will help.
To conclude, I believe this Hotpoint product is a very cost effective and time-saving device that will surely be a relief to dishwashers everywhere, who alternatively would have to do this lengthy process by hand, which is just not viable in a fast paced, ever changing modern world. Be sure to shop around online and in shops too to ensure the best deal on this product, which you will surely love to help you with menial household labor. There are other products out there, but, in my experience, they are either much more expensive or not at all good.
This dishwasher comes from a company with a history for building sound, quality machines, and this model is no exception. Benefiting from a modern white exterior with neat and organised settings. It is free standing and has adjustable feet so is perfect for most units. It has a multitude of wash cycles from eco to a 60 degree powerful wash. It is front loading and has a top and bottom section which can be rearranged to suit your needs. It is rated A and uses 12 litres of water per cycle. yearly consumption based on averages are 299KWH and 3,360 litres of water. It also as a timed delay setting and a remaining time indicator screen. It has a low rinse aid and salt level indicator which i find is very valuable to get the perfect wash. You will need help with the installation as the machine weighs 47kg, the dimensions are height - 850mm width - 600mm and depth 600mm. Some people have commented on the filter being a problem, saying they have to clean it nearly every wash, which would be frustrating. Also the rubber seal is hard to replace if that goes. I find parts for most appliances difficult to replace which is really irritating and can be expensive. Don't go paying more than £319.99 to £329.99 and get free delivery at them prices. Look into the added warranties because parts can be expensive and difficult to get hold of.
What a machine! This is great in almost all respects, but has a few minor bad sides. I have had the washing machine for a few months now, after my previous one, and the one before that, and the one before that... failed. The washing machine field is the not the best place to find a reliable product, but at the end of the day, this product does seem to be doing its job at least up to now; so fingers crossed guys!
I was and still am for that matter, extremely impressed with design. The white simplicity is simply divine, and the plate come out equally heavenly. I now eat meals with the confidence that my plates will always be clean. Other products have failed me in the past; sometimes there is still residue left on the plates from left overs which isn't great. But this product over all, I suppose, must be classed as great. The one thing which is annoying is that you have to clean the filter every time you use it if you want to get maximum effect, and I like maximum effect. The thing is, if you are willing to put in the effort, you have yourself a winner, and if not, you have yourself a loser. Simple as that.
We have had this dishwasher for about a year. We bought it quite cheaply and I don't think that we would buy it again.
One of the main problems is that you have to empty the filter every single time you use it or it throws any debris back onto the crockery. When it has dried on, it's the very devil to get back off again.
Good points are that this dishwasher has an economy cycle which only takes half and hour and it also has a cycle for really dirty crockery which takes and hour and a half. The finish o the outside is very easy to clean and it doesn't chip off, so it still looks like new after a years wear.
Back to the inside. The holders for the plates is quite narrow and you have to be careful when pulling them out. I have actually broke a couple of plates by being too rough. It isn't easy to unload because the holders have gripped them so tightly. They seem to get tighter when wet.
The other thing is that the holder that dispenses the washing powder tablet sometimes doesn't open if you press start and then open the dishwasher to put something in that you have forgotten. This means that the whole cycle goes through without any wash power in the machine and you have to start all over again.
I do like the front display panel as it gives you the exact time that the cycle still has left to run which is ideal if you have other jobs to do before putting your next load in. The door is easy to open and close and when it is completely open and horizontal, it is quite sturdy. My cocker spaniel jumped on it once but it was very forgiving.
Noise is a problem with this dishwasher. We have it in the utility room between two cupboards but we can still hear it in the house when it is on. It's a kind of droning sound which can be a bit annoying if there is no other sound in the house.
Getting spare parts for it is a problem. The seal around the door was split and we asked if we could get one to repair it ourselves but Hotpoint said that we couldn't. However, we just bought a generic one and fitted it. It works fine but I am more than a little worried if we need additional parts in the future.
The instructions for plumbing it in came is several different languages but th English version was detailed and allowed us to plumb it in ourselves. There was a bag with all he bits and bobs but no tools for tightening up the nuts.
Overall, its a case of you get what you pay for. There are good points and bad points with this product but I, personally, wouldn't buy it again. Having said that, if it gives us a couple of years service then it will have paid for itself.
