Disadvantages: Below average in many respects, poor reliability

Do not buy this machine. The cutlery basket is feeble and holes will very quickly appear in the bottom, allowing your cutlery to fall through and stop the bottom tray sliding in/out. It needs copious amounts of salt and rinse aid even when 3-in-1 tablets are used. Drying is below average and usually incomplete. It is too easy to bump up against the buttons and accidentally change what the machine is doing. Sometimes it gets confused and refuses to enter any programme - you have to give it a couple of minutes to compose itself so that it will then accept a programme! The drain pump on our machine failed after just 3 and a half years. We chose Hotpoint because our previous Hotpoint machine was a marvel - solid and completely dependable throughout 17 years of hard use. The name of Hotpoint does not stand for what it used to, I fear. Am I alone in this view? No. Look at any review site and you will find similar comments about this vendor.
