Advantages: Consistent
Disadvantages: Occasional non-release of dishwasher tab
I bought this Hotpoint FDW60 in 2006, along with their FFA97 Fridge/Freezer and WD640 Washer/dryer. They are all in a matcing silvery graphite colour that suited my kitchen perfectly.
After 6 years use, this dishwasher is still doing the business - and it gets used every day at least. The only thing that is starting to wear out is the cutlery basket, through which cutlery sometimes slips through, but that's my fault for not putting sharp knives in the designated holders on the side of the basket; over the years the knives have worn away the base of the basket. In any case, these are only £5 to replace.
There are 6 settings with a half-load button too. I tend to flit between Normal 40deg and Intensive 65deg.
The filters are easy to clean.
My one small gripe - in common with other brands, I find the flap for releasing the dishwasher tablet sometimes gets stuck, and you end up having a wash cycle without using the dishwasher tab. It is very occasional, and again it might just be that I'm not loading the tablet in correctly.
Otherwise, a decent dishwasher that is still doing the job after over 6 years use!
Summary: A good solid performer
