Advantages: Erm...... it hides dirty dishes well
Disadvantages: It doesn't actually wash anything properly
I was so excited when we bought this dishwasher two years ago. We had just bought our first house which needed a new kitchen, so decided to get a dishwasher. I'd never had one before. We bought ours from B&Q.
I have always been pretty impressed with Indesit washing machines, so thought an Indesit dishwasher would be a good bet.
I have not been impressed at all with it since we bought it, for the following reasons:
1) It actually is really useless at cleaning the dishes, especially stuff on the bottom rack. Absolutely no point putting pans on the bottom rack as they come out just as dirty as when they went in. Often, glasses come out with loads of white residue on them, which doesn't come off if you rewash them in the machine, so you have to wash them by hand.
2) The dishwasher tablets often don't come out of their holder properly during the cycle, so when it's finished its cycle, you open it up and the tablet hasn't been used, so the stuff is still dirty and needs rewashing.
3) The only cycle that ever washes stuff even remotely well is the cycle intended for REALLY dirty pots. The others I have found to be a waste of time.
Basically, it mostly serves the purpose of being a cupboard for our dirty pots and pans, so they can be kept out of sight!!!! It pretends to clean things and occasionally manages it, but so inconsistently, which makes it a waste of money and resources (bad for our pockets and the environment).
When I buy another dishwasher, I'll definitely do more research and pay a bit more for one that actually works!
Summary: Don't bother with it!!

- 29/09/08 Thanks for your comments. I do use a dishwasher cleaner every month which I think would get rid of limescale unless I'm wrong. |

- 28/09/08 Welcome to Dooyoo. A good start here but could do with adding in the price and noise levels.
If the soap isn't being dispersed properly, put it in the cutlery basket so it has a decent chance of melting and breaking down. Sounds to me like your dishwasher could be affected by limescale in the pipes. |
