I have now lived with this dishwasher for 2 years. In that time it has performed well with just 2 small faults. Firstly, it displayed an error message quite randomly which has now gone away (completely unexplained). Secondly, a small piece of the plastic that forms the top of the door has snapped off (but I'm just going to blame my wife for that as she is a little heavy handed). The machine itself is very simple to use and cleans all manner of plates, dishes and pans without fuss. I know Indesit's are cheap but ours has performed well and it was the cheapest available when we bought it. Simple to install, simple to use. There are limited functions and ... I seem to be in disagreement with other reviewers as regards the indesit IDL530. I already owned a dishwasher which I had had for about five years with no problems( Unfortunately I can't remember the make) when it finally gave up the ghost. As usual these things never break down when your finances are ok. I bought this machine in John Lewis for £130 it was an item that had been returned (now I know why) it had a years guarantee with it. I have not had major problems with it, just small niggles, I find it difficult loading it, don't seem to get so much in it, and quite often when I open it I find the soap tablet still in one piece and the dishes not looking ... Had a new kitchen fitted so I thought I would get a dishwasher to go in it, I never had a dishwasher before so I did a bit of research before I bought one which was good value for money, Had mine for about 18 months now and haven't had any problems with it what so ever, there are only a few buttons on it so it is very easy to use, it has 5 different cycles so you can use the one best suited to you I partically like the rapid cycle because it still cleans them well but it only takes about 30 mins, have found that if you don't clean the filters that it doesn't perform as well as it should so its a good idea to clean them regulary....all in all I am very happy with mine and ... For this price bracket, this dishwasher represents good value for money. Problems found after VERYextended usage (in a VERY hard water area) is the spraybar sometimes becomes clogged with debris (as any machine can), plus the cutlery tray suffers some degradation with some of the plastic breaking off -- which can allow cutlery to drop through and can impede the lower spray bar) . However in fairness, some of this could be because over time, sharp knives placed blade down can cut up the floor of the cutlery tray - I am just saying what's happened to my machine (not a scientific test, but a typical user experience) To get best performance it is necessary to do ...
