Advantages: Sturdiness, Performance, Reliability?

Disadvantages: Cost

When I finally decided that our hotpoint dishwasher deserved no more of my hard earned cash to fix it (£300 in 6 months!)it was time to browse all the boring parts of the electrical stores again.
This time I decided to go for a brand with a reputation for reliablity, I just hope this proves accurate, so far so good but too early to comment yet.
What I can say about this model is that it performs excellently. The controls are simple, the main one being a chunky rotary switch to set the temperature. Once done press the start button and away it goes. This has a slightly retro feel to it, where is the fancy LCD for example?, but the controls feel sturdy and are simplicity itself to operate. The simplicity and sturdiness apply to the feel of the machine overall. It does what it is supposed to do, cleans dishes excellently, and does so quietly.
There is a vent on the upper left corner which extracts the air from inside during the drying cycle so the dishes finish dryer than some I have seen.
Ours says it is the "plus" model and does not have a basket for holding the cutlery. What it has instead is a 3rd level at the top of the machine giving an extra, flat, pull-out drawer designed specifically for these items. This avoids the need to have the cutlery basket sitting in the bottom drawer so maximising space there. The drawer designs are fairly simple so everything tends to get lumped in fairly haphazardley but it certainley holds a lot and I am considering buying more cups and plates as we keep running out!
According to the blurb in the shop it is rated "A" for performance and efficiency.
Overall this is a sturdy dishwasher that performs to a high standard and doesn't cost the earth to run. It is not the cheapest around but if it proves to be as reliable as the manufacturer's reputation suggests it will be impossible to fault.
