Miele G646Sc ... Miele dishwasher was a replacement for a Neff machine which was over 10 years old. I chose it because of the A ratings for wash, dry and energy performance. Also, I liked the idea of an extra shelf for cutlery and its quiet operation. The machine was somewhat difficult to plumb-in due to restricted space at the back of our kitchen units and the fact that the hose has a box built onto it which I think is for stopping waste water flowing back into the machine. Build quality is good but not as sturdy as our old Neff machine. The cutlery tray in particular is somewhat light in construction and wouldn't stand up to mis-use by children. I finally decided that our hotpoint dishwasher deserved no more of my hard earned cash to fix it (£300 in 6 months!)it was time to browse all the boring parts of the electrical stores again. This time I decided to go for a brand with a reputation for reliablity, I just hope this proves accurate, so far so good but too early to comment yet. What I can say about this model is that it performs excellently. The controls are simple, the main one being a chunky rotary switch to set the temperature. Miele Novostella ... bottom basket first. The machine is easy to clean, with removable filters, and I always find that a good dishwasher cleaner once a month keeps the inside sparkling clean. My dishwasher may not be anything special to look at, some might say it's ugly, but I love it, it saves me washing up, and I have now had it 2 years, so it must be at least 15 years old, and it still works like new, Miele certainly made a winner with this machine.
