Advantages: 12 place settings, energy and water efficient with 9 programs and half load setting.
Disadvantages: Audible alarm is very quiet but that's not really a problem.
I absolutely LOVE my new Sandstrom Dishwasher. I was lost when my old one broke down never to be repaired so I reluctantly went online to find a replacement, and as many people are, I was on a fixed budget so I narrowed my search down to a few and finally chose this one.
I was not disappointed, it fits more in than my old Philips Whirlpool, which is great for my large family of 6! I can literally squeeze in two days worth of breakfast and dinner pots, cups and cutlery before switching it on. If I have used a lot of pans, etc, then it loads up one day's worth. It takes 12 place settings on the lower rack and has a good height clearance from the spray arm when washing larger items like chopping boards or oven trays.
It is quiet, has 9 settings and a digital panel that is hidden in the top of the door and a half load setting if you only have enough for top or bottom rack. The only downside is that the audible alarm that signals the end of a cycle is very quiet, but that's not really a problem.
Considering I had never heard of Sandstrom before I found this little beauty, I would highly recommend it. It is more energy and water efficient than a lot of the top name brands and a fraction of the price, and it comes in gloss Black with a silver handle which is very stylish looking.
I highly recommend this product.
Summary: Excellent value for money, looks good, works well, very quiet and simple to use.
