      Very helpful

don't buy unless you don't wash many dishes

This is the first dishwasher I've owned so I can't really compare it to anything else (apologies). It was bought from co op at just under £500.

I live in a household of 5 so decided to buy a small dishwasher to reduce my washing up load. This is a decision I strongly regret, especially for how much it cost me.

Appearance: It is undoubtedly a lovely looking dishwasher (the picture on here does it no justice at all), I consider it one of the main features in my kitchen and guests are always commenting on it. I think the stainless steel door must be scratch proof or something because it still has no scratches from the two and a half years we've owned it. It is very easy to clean and looks lovely when it is clean also.

Ease of use: It is very easy to use and it has a very nice interface with many different washing options. Also, it is easy to load but gets filled quickly in my house. The manual however is very long winded and hard to understand so I suggest playing around with the different settings and finding the one that suits you best. It is also very good at letting you know when your dishes are washed, the tune it plays reminds me of the ice cream man ha ha ha.

Reliability: From this point of view I have never had a problem with this dishwasher, it is very well made as all Smeg products are. Two and a half years on and it still works like new and I am pretty certain it will last me for many years to come (although I don't really want that and I will explain why later).

How it works: This is where the product may let you down. If you are an individual who would use it to wash 3 or 4 dishes per load then fine but any more than this then do not buy it. I've found that the more dishes you put into this dishwasher, the worse the results (I have tried every single dishwasher tablet on the market and I can assure you this is 100% a problem from the dishwasher). After using it I find myself having to hand wash about half of the dishes that come out of it or putting them in again (which is really expensive to do) and sometimes if I don't notice something I have ended up using dishes with bits of food on them and feeling sick afterwards.
I completely agree it is my own fault for buying such a small dishwasher for my needs, but the dishwasher should be more than capable of cleaning more than 3 or 4 dishes per load.
Sometimes, if you put too many dishes in it will stop washing them without notifying clearly because something has got trapped. But I never load more dishes than the available racks on the dishwasher.

Efficiency: It takes a lot of energy to use this dishwasher and I don't know if it is abnormal because i cannot compare it to anything else, but as far as I'm concerned my electricity bill has risen since i bought this product.

Also watch your kids around this as it is very easy to open when in operation and lets out a lot of hot steam! And don't take the dishes out straight away as they come out very hot.

To summarise, you should not buy this dishwasher unless you are an individual who doesn't wash a lot of dishes.
