Good solid appliance at reasonable price (Zanussi ZDF221)

A good quality appliance. We have owned one of these for 2 years now and to date have ad no problems with it. It offers all the normal settings with prewash, heavy soil, quick wash, eco wash etc all of which do their job well. One nice feature is you can set a delayed start to make the most of cheaper electricity - no bad idea in this economic climate. Internally the 2 baskets work well and happily take 2 or 3 days of washing up for our family of 3. The cutlery basket is very well made with the option of seperating cutlery. The tablet / powder drawer is very sturdily made and has given us no problems. We live in a hard water area and the instruction book helped to ensure that we filled it with the correct salt. The cycle itself can be a little long for my likeing but it is triple A rated and seems to deserve this rating.

Okay as a request from a comment here is some additional info:

The machine cost me £195 which I think was well worth it. There was a 12 month guarantee with this, which I have not renewed as I feel for the cost of the product what the company wanted was a little much.

Noise level is average/low, certainly quieter than our washing machine and our previous dishwasher. There is no child lock on the machine. The quick wash takes about 35 minutes and produces good results as long as there is no dried on stuff on the dishes. I often pre rinse the dishes just to help keep the machine clean. The inside of the machine is well laid out with the actual chassis being easy to clean and maintain. The instruction manual covered all angles and was useful in installation.

Summary: Good budget dishwasher with some good features.
