Alesis MultiMix 8 USB 2.0:
... used to have the USB version, but for the money, it didnt provide enough for me!!! I soon after upgraded to the firewire version which was much better. The USB version is a basic mixer layout, with gain, EQ, 2 aux sends (although one has to be used for FX if you use them) and pan. The 100 built in effects are a good feature and do help. The USB connection allows the mixer to be connected to a computer to record the... Read the full review: Why not buy the Firewire version? by mousedadrummer |

Digitech Bad Monkey ... Bad Monkey is a surprisingly cheap overdrive pedal, designed to replicate the sound of an overdriven tube amp. It can also be used as a clean boost. The Bad Monkey has 4 controls/knobs. A level knob to control the pedal output or volume, a gain knob to control the amount of distortion/clipping, a low knob to control the amount of bass and a high knob for the amount of treble. These provide plenty of control over the sound from the pedal. The pedal is built into a metal case, I really can t see this breaking on me. The pedal can be powered by a 9V power supply or by a 9V battery. It has 1 input and 2 outputs, one for amps or for plugging straight into a mixer. Wit... Vox AC4TV ... there s a whole host of small valve amps on the market. The AC4/TV is Vox s offering. At £189 it is reasonably priced, around the average for these small amps. The most unique and interesting feature on the AC4 is the variable wattage. The amp runs at 4 watts but can be switched down to 1W or 1/4W. This is a great feature for bedroom practice. The amp doesn t offer a gain knob to get preamp gain so to get any kind of overdrive you need to crank the powertubes and that means turning the amp up. That s where the variable wattage comes in, even at 4 watts this amp is really loud if you want overdrive, turn it down to 1/4W and it becomes a lot more reasonable. Howev... Akai E2 Headrush Pedal ... Akai E2 headrush pedal is a delay come looping pedal and I think does both very well. I started live looping with this pedal and found it to be pretty simple as it only has two buttons to control you loop. When you first start looping it just takes a bit of practice to really nail the loop correctly as, depending on what your looping, a few fractions of a second can really make the difference. If you have never come across live looping before I ll give a quick run down of what is involved and what can be achieved. The way I normally start a loop on this pedal is to play a bass line along with a drum loop from a drum machine or hardware sampler. When i am happy with ...
