You really can't dial in a bad sound with this amp and the famed 'brown sound' is easily produced as are crunchy rhythms and searing solo sounds. The Peavey 5150 head and 4X12" cabinet has been around for some time (there's even a 'updated' version hitting the streets soon). This is an all valve guitar amplifier designed by Edward Van Halen and Peavey about 10 years ago. It can be thought of as a cross between a Soldano SLO 100 and a Marshall. This ampifier is aimed directly at rock players. It certainly doesn't disappoint. The controls are all familiar with the possible exception of the 'resonance' control.
