Advantages: Can control almost any parameter within audio software
Disadvantages: Can be occasionly fidly to install in regards to drivers
The BCR2000 is a digital controller interface which can control a very high number of paramters within audio software. The device can be connected through either usb (my prefered method) or via midi cables.
Once installation and drivers have been correctly applied to your computer the device is pretty much ready to go!
The most effective and quick way to link the unit with your audio software (in my opinion) is the 'learn' feature, this is where a parameter within the software is selected (lets take an audio channels pan control fo example) and then you simply adjust whichver knob of the BCR2000 you would like to control this feature and they are instantly paired.
every knob has a space underneath to label (very handy to keep track of what is what!) and ach controller also features a full LED display so the user can see exactly where each controller is set to. (useful as the knobs dont have a stopping point and will turn for as long as you wish).
These units are especially used by DJ's during live sets for adjusting things such as filters for example, just to prove how high regarded they are withing the industry, dance hitmakers 'DAFT PUNK' use these when playin live!
The BCR2000 comes very highly recommended by myself! The manufacturers 'Behringer' who designed and built this product generally take a knock for creating 'cheaper emulations' of existing equipment but i use a whole load of their equipment in my setup and would even rate some of it higher then the original products!
I would highly recommend this to all who work with digital audio whether it be in a recording studio of a DJ performing live!
This will without doubt save you the hassle of finding and adjusting hard to find parameters yourself!
Summary: Great piece of kit for anyone working with a digital audio editor!
