Advantages: Excellent value, Amazing durability, Complete compatability

Disadvantages: Heavy, Complex

The Trace Elliot 7 band series does, in my opinion, far exceed the likes of the Boxer and the Commando series in volume, quality, features and build.

There are many downfalls of the smaller Trace amps - being; Not as rugged as the 7 and 12 band series (note the tough carpet on the more expensive models),
Fewer tonal and gain controls (The main feature of the 7 and 12 bands are the extensive EQ controls), and finally, not as good pound for pound.

I personally have the smallest of the 7 band series - the 712 SMC. Although only a 130w amp, it easily outblows it's 200w Laney counterpart, and it's features mock those of the other brands.

The Trace Elliot amps cater for PA use as well as for through-speaker output - they have a balanced DI and line-out.

When buying an amp, look to what you can afford, then what you want
meet half way
I did - and don't regret it.
