bruffyboy Citronic Pro 8: ... Citronic Pro 8 was the second DJ mixer I bought, and is certainly a more pro model than you need at entry level. It has four channels, full EQ on each channel, two mic inputs and a replacable crossfader. On the surface, this mixer does everything you need it to. It s kind of pointless talking about all the general spec like headphone socket on the front, separate booth control, phono and RCA outputs. Actually, t...

bruffyboy Numark-DM2000
... was the first mixer I ever bought, and I have to say it works beautifully as a beginner s mixer. It is now discontinued, but can be picked up second hand for around £50. I paid around £200 for this mixer, which wasn t a bad price at the time. It has three channels, and 3 band eq along with all the basic controls. One of the extra features that made this a great mixer were the punch buttons on either side of the crossfader. These buttons allowed you to instantaneously punch in the other track for a split second. I used this to fake scratching, and have to say it worked really well for that. The main down-side of this mixer is that the knobs are a little small and...

Dobbi2009 Pioneer DJM600
... buying this mixer I had read lots of rave reviews on it then finally had a go on one at a friends house party. That was it I had to have one. It s been 4 years now since it I bought the DJM600 and I still think it s immense. Pioneer have released a few mixers since this was launched which do have a few extra bells and whistles but everything a DJ could ever need is on this mixer. I ve had a few mixers before this including Numark, Stanton and Gemini and this was the ultimate upgrade. It has 4 channels, lots of effects, effect volume control, 3 cross fader settings, built in sampler (records up to 8 seconds), beat counter, microphone port and loads more. ...

mousedadrummer Alesis MultiMix 8 USB 2.0
... used to have the USB version, but for the money, it didnt provide enough for me!!! I soon after upgraded to the firewire version which was much better. The USB version is a basic mixer layout, with gain, EQ, 2 aux sends (although one has to be used for FX if you use them) and pan. The 100 built in effects are a good feature and do help. The USB connection allows the mixer to be connected to a computer to record the stereo mix output of the mixer, however I cant see why you would buy this just for that option, you can get something like an M audio fast track which does the same, (albiet without the mixer features like EQ and AUXs) for less than half the price. If you jus...
