Stanton - iTrack:
... sound and build quality, I have the bluberry which look good too. One real advantage I found was that the set I bought them in came with two spare stylus per cartridge, each stylus is supposed to give a minimum of two thousand hours play time, so thats a minimum of 6,000 per cartridge or at an average of 3 hours play a day, about 6 years worth, if like me you probably average 10 hours a week total on your ... Stanton - 500 AL II ... seen ads for these around, selling them very cheaply so i immediately dismissed them as crap and carried on reading. my mistake i believe. a few months ago when i was still playing around with my first set of decks i had a mate round so i thought i'd demonstrate my amazing skills to him, marvellous i thought. He was suitably impressed by my mixing skills yet commented on the poor sound quality i was experiencing. i hadnt thought about this so i had a quick listen and he was right, it was crap. The immediate noticeable benefit is the sound difference. Being a disciple of the quality hi-fi culture, I was satisfied with the improved, louder, crisper tones that the cartridge supplied. However, my main concern was the practical side of the Trackmaster. As far as turntables are concerned I am mainly interested in the destructive art of scratching. I had previously had problems with the 500... Read the full review: Gets into the groove and gets the groove into you! by dhawkins |

Stanton - 500 AL II ... s a reaon why Stanton seem to have had a stonghold on the "industry standard" carts and needles in clubs for almost as long as Technics Sl s have had theirs. They re cheap, They re stong, They re durable, and they re a good weight. Hang on, that was four reasons. Sorry. But they are. As long as you take care of them, and as long as you replace them when you need to - they are of great use to the Dj. I ve seen people go out and spend £150 on a pair of Trackmasters, only to dump them in favour of their 500 s instead. Ok, the sound isn t exactly an audiophiles dream, but then when you think of the state we all let our tunes get into - the needle r... Read the full review: the workhorse of Dj'ing by Recess |
