I really quite like One Direction so for my birthday I asked for a live concert of theirs on DVD only to find that my husband bought me this DVD instead as he got the wrong one. I have seen the DVD in supermarkets and online on sites such as Amazon and it costs about £7.
The DVD is 60 minutes long and is a documentary about One Direction and their career so far, the DVD has commentary over the top of it which is a male voice which is actually really annoying. There are a few bits of One Direction talking about their experience and how they feel but most of the DVD is really other people talking about them and how big they have become.
The DVD doesn't have any extras on it so when you load it up you can either play the whole things or you can play from a particular scene, I felt that there could have at least included one of their videos on the DVD.
There are famous people such as Westlife and Matt Cardle talking about the boys and then there are fellow contestants such as Diva Fever too, there are also little snippets from some of their fans, they have used young girls in the DVD. I thought that if they were going to use fans they would have used a range of different ages however i'm sure the little girls will have been thrilled to be involved.
The DVD tells you a little bit about how they were formed which I think just about everyone in the country at least will already be aware of and then it goes on to tell you a bit about each of the band members individually. I would think that any massive fan would like to watch and it told me some things I didn't know such as Liam only has one kidney and Zayn nearly auditioned the year before the band were put together but backed out when he was queuing for the auditions.
I would say that a massive fan would want to see the DVD but for me it was interesting in parts but a bit boring too, there wasn't any of the usual One Direction lads messing around which I have seen in other documentaries and which I really like about the boys as they come across as being very down to earth. The DVD really I would say was just put together to make some extra money, there is nothing of note in the DVD and it is just really a lot of different views on the way the boys got together and the hysteria that has followed, I would only rate this DVD 3 stars.
