I am a big fan of BBC nature documentaries, but I normally shy away from any that arent narrated by David Attenborough, I suppose im a bit of an Attenborough snob! However, when I saw this one I was intrigued, I really dont know much about a China or ever watched a documentary on it, and after reading many postive reviews I decided to give it a go - andd I am glad I did!

The series itself is narrated very well by Benard Hill (Lord of the Rings, Titanic, Boys from the Black Stuff), and beautifully filmed. The BBC has managed to produce a beautiful and extensive account of China, revealing stuff that I really didnt know and was completely suprised by.

It showcases not just the wildlife of china, but also the culture and way of life of a country with so much history. It has been a tendancy with some BBC documentaries recently Ive found to use old footage, or the same footage several times throughout one programme, with this however it is not the case. If you like documentaries, or want to learn a little more about China then I really cannot recommend this enough. Each episode is fantastic and captivating, I was disappointed when I had finally watched them all and was hungry to learn more! A brilliant documentary of a beautiful country!

You can get it from amazon for around £7 for the dvd or £8 for the blu ray, and for just under 6 hours of beautiful footage this is definitely a bargain!
