Bakers Dental Delicious
Advantages: dogs loved them
We are a household with 4 dogs, which can be very hectic at times.Itis also expensive caring for 4 dogs, even though they are all smaller breeds.
One thing I am very strict on is that I like them all to have a denta stick every evening after they eat, that way I know I am keeping their teeth in a good condition, or the best I can do, anyway!
The trouble is that our dogs only really eat wet dog foods. We have been trying to introduce the bakers gravy bites, which some of them will eat a bit of here and there. The trouble with wet dog food is that there is no crunch and so it does nothing to help clean the teeth and this can cause the dog to be more prone to tartar around the teeth.
I would lobe them to eat the dried foods so that their teeth are in the best possible condition, but what can you do when they wont eat. We did try tobrush their teeth, but no one enjoyed that, including myself.
I want their teeth to be kept well for a number of reasons including the dogs welfare as well as vet procedures and costs.
Due to all of this we give each dog a denta stick every single day. I don't mind which ones they have and usually buy whatever is on offer or at the best price. They all seem very similar in size and shape. The only difference with these ones is that they have a different centre. The middle part of the chew is slightly softer and meaty, so I guess it makes the dogs chew through more than others.
The dogs definately like these more than other brands they have tried. the trouble is they are one of the most expensive dental chews about, so they have here and there as a treat.
A pack of 7 chews costs around £1.80 or you can get a larger pack of 28 for roughly £6.80. The trouble is when you have to buy 4 lots per week, this gets quite expensive and you can pick up a 7 for 99p most of the time, with other brands, so by comparison these are quite pricey.
I think these are a great way of keeping your dogs teeth in good condition. but i do think they need to lower the price a bit.
Summary: if they were a bit cheaper I would buy them all the time
