After a recent vet visit I discovered that my collie that needs a bit more care taken with his teeth as he is 8 years old now and his breath was beginning to smell bad. I had tried to use different products to help this as there is no way he would let me go near his mouth but nothing helped. The vet advised me to get him these dental biscuits.
 
 
They cost me 6 euro for a packet for 12 in my vets but I'm sure you could find them cheaper in pet shops. You should give one of these sticks a day to your dog to help keep their teeth healthy and strong. They consist of an outer layer which is brown and chewy and this layer cleans the dogs teeth. It has lots of groves in it so it is desgined to get into the nooks and crannies in their mouth.
 
 
The centre of this treat is meaty and my dog really seems to enjoy it. His breath doesnt smell minty fresh after it but I am confident that it is helping to remove plague and keep his teeth clean after inspecting them myself.
 
 
They can be a bit expensive to give everyday so I just give my dog half of one everyday and I think it does just as good. I would highly recommend these to any dog owners especially if you have a more mature dog who is prone to bad breath like mine.
