Disadvantages: Hard for dogs to use on grass
My dog absolutely loves playing fetch and is quite fond of tennis balls. He is a collie and also loves exploring the countryside around us. Unfortunately he likes to bring his balls on his journeys and they get lost far too often.
I end up having to buy a pack of tennis balls every month and it can be really frustrating. I tend to not buy him toys that are too expensive because I'm afraid he will disgard them in some ditch.
The lady is the local pet shop recommended this boomer ball to me after I told her about the nuisance. The boomer ball is available in many different sizes and it is very heavy. It is not designed to be used for fetch. Your dog is meant to push it around with their nose and chase it around as it rolls away. They can't actually pick it up because it's bigger than their own mouth. It might seem like a stupid idea having a ball that a dog can't pick up but it was just the solution we needed!
I just leave our dog with this outside and he can get his exercise and fun by chasing it around the tarmac but he can't pick this up and loose him when he is roaming. Now I keep the tennis balls for when I am playing with him myself and he doesn't mind because he has the boomer ball to entertain him.
This really is a great item and it is perfect for anyone who find themselves constantly buying new balls for their dog. Whether they burst them or lose them this is a great solution as an alternative to fetch. The ball cost me 8 euro in Maxi Zoo and is available in either blue or red.
Summary: Heavy ball for chasing
