I recently looked after my friends cat's when she went on holiday for a couple of weeks while she was away one of her cats had a litter of kittens, after a couple days I checked the kittens and was dismayed to fine that they were crawling with fleas.

I did a bit of research and found out that most flea treatments are only for cats/kittens 12 weeks upwards.

On advice from my vet, she recommended frontline spray which was available to buy through the vet practice.

It cost £18.20 and can be used on kittens under 8 weeks if advised by vets, each bottle has 8 applications but cats will need spraying more regularly than the frontline spot on drop's.

When using this spray I did all 4 kittens and mother although was told not to spray on her belly.

Almost straight away did I see fleas dying in the kittens bed and I had to keep the mum away until the kittens were dry to ensure she didn't lick them.

The kittens were soon free of fleas.

Packaging : Is a white spray bottle with blue detailing a labeling.

Active ingredients : Fipronil

Instructions : Use gloves and open windows for ventilation. Spray cat until fur is damp being careful of eyes and face. Gently rub the fur to ensure complete coverage of frontline spray. Allow fur to dry naturally and do not allow swimming/bathing until 24hrs have passed.

Frontline is effective for fleas and ticks and is recommended to be treated every month.

Also frontline spray is excellent for cats that have reactions to fleas or flea products.

My friends eldest cat has always had a reaction to frontline spot on but after trying the spray she doesn't have any scabs around the treatments area any more.
