      A lovely little toy

As some of you will have already read - I have two collies; Beau and Luna. Beau is completely ball mad and tuggy mad. However as many of you will also enforce, I have a no ball or ball on a rope policy for indoors. If I didn't stop Beau bringing them in, the balls would be flying everywhere and the balls on a rope probably flying through the windows and T.V. He loves them and watching him play is fun, especially when he swings the rope round and round and then lets go letting it fly up in the air - I just don't want that inside , in a small space, with lots of breakables. So I only have soft toys inside. I actually bought this one when we went up to the lakes to a friends, and thought it would make a nice change. When we got home, it proved a great success...with both dogs. Both dogs are quite into sticks, and this being the shape it is, ie quite long is almost stick like, with the advantage of a squeak. Now Luna will sit with a squeaky toy and squeak it, and squeak it and squeak it - and again as many of you will know from experience....after while ouch can that noise be annoying. The squeak in this is not high pitched but rather a low noise, so it is less irritating. A bonus in my eyes. I think Luna also likes it because it's furry, and she has a liking of fury soft toys, so she'll again just sit there mouthing it. The stitching appears to be very good as it's not been unpicked yet - and the toy is very much alive. Beau who is more active, prefers to play fetch. So time after time I will find the toy (usually soggy) being placed on my lap for me to throw - which I am only too happy to do. As it's so soft, I don't have to worry about it breaking anything. A brilliant toy in my opinion, and at £3.99 (I believe I paid for it) I think it was a bargain.

This is one of my personal favourite toys Ben owns! I liked it so much I even purchased one for my Mum's dog Oliver. I picked the Happy Pet Dog Buddy Loofah toy in Wilkinsons and it set me back £1.99 for each of them so it was fairly cheap in my opinion though the price did leave me doubting how durable it would be. The Happy Pet Dog Buddy Loofah is one of the oddest looking dog toys I have come across. It does look like a scrubby bath loofah except with a dog head and legs. The loofah is beige in colour and the dog head has this massive cheesy grin on its face which I also think passes for a look of "I am going to bite you now!" It has four little stubby legs - 2 at the front and 2 at the back and a knobbly tail. It has dangly ears, little black stitched eyes and a big black stitched nose. In the middle of his body he has a built in squeaker. The toy is really long too and it gives your dog plenty of space to grab it around the middle and hold it in their mouth. The Loofah toy is very soft to the touch despite on first glance looking as though it would be quite rough. Although it appears to be made well I would not suggest putting it through the rigors of serious play. It is more one of those toys to be played with gently rather than roughly. It is very squishy and stuffed well. As I have said previously, Ben loves a soft cuddly toy so this fitted his requirements perfectly. It is easy for him to carry about and his tends to just want to squeak it and cuddle with it when he falls asleep which is good as it really wouldn't stand up to being played with in a tough manner - my Mum's dog Oliver played with it boistrously and the Loofah ended up being headless with stuffing coming out of its neck :( The Loofah has been slobbered over and licked a fair bit. The slobber and the mixture of taking it outside makes it a bit grubby so it is a case of just chucking it in the washing machine to make it come up as good as new again. I am also surprised at how long the squeaker has lasted despite Ben squeaking it a fair amount as well as it having been through the washing machine. Highly recommended toy.

A good toy at a good price

My dogs main passion in life is balls, balls however are banned inside our house so whilst inside she plays with soft toys instead. She is rather spoilt and has lots to choose from but her firm favourite at the moment is the Happy Pet Dog Buddy Loofah. The Happy Pet Dog Buddy Loofah is a strange looking little fellow, he is a beige in colour, has a huge cheesy grin on his face, a very long body and very very short legs. He is made from a soft textured polyester fabric with embroidered eyes, nose and mouth and comes with built in squeaker. He is approximately 30 x 8 x 5cm. As the toy is quite long he is really good to play gentle tugging games with your dog, I say gentle as although he does seem quite well made I don't think he would hold up to ruff and tough play. My dog has hers for around 3 months now, she carries it about, slobbers on it, lies on it and throws it around and he is still in quite good condition considering, a bit dirty mind you as he has been well slobbered on but the stitching has held up well and the squeaker still works. The I bought mine for £3.99 from pets at home and think it has been quite good value. My dog would definitely recommend this product. I would recommend it to but only if your dog is happy with gentle play as it really wouldn't last long if pulled and tugged very much.

        Disadvantages

My dog loves it! 5 out of 5 from him!

This toy is widely available in many stores, including the well known Pets at Home and even in some supermarkets such as Wilkinson's. This is my Jack Russell's favourite ever toy to play with, I have bought him the same toy about 4 times and I will continue to keep buying him a new one when he's wrecked it because it provides him with hours of fun! And it's fun to watch him play with it also! The toy is great for training. It can be used to train a dog to fetch and bring as it is in a shape which is easy for dogs to fit in their mouths. My dog likes to use the toy as a back scratcher, rolling on it and using it as a pillow in his bed. Quality; .... I've found the quality doesn't really depend on what store you are buying this toy from, it's the same wherever you go! The toy is available in three sizes, small medium and large however it is the medium which is the most commonly found and it's this size I always buy. The toy is soft, long and noisy! There is a squeaker found at one end of the toy, however I've sometimes bought the toy and found the squeaker in the middle rather than at the end... But this just entertains my dog more! There is a head on the toy which looks like a crazy dog! The face certainly suits the toy however as my dog likes to bite it in the middle and shake his head like a mad dog! Hitting himself either side of his head multiple times. I'm unsure why, but it's fun to watch! Although I think this toy is fantastic, I wouldn't consider it to be ok for large dogs, or dogs with a strong bite! My miniature Jack Russell has hours of fun trying to bite the squeaker out of the toy and 9 times out of 10, he succeeds! He tends to lose interest when the toy doesn't squeal, which is why I buy him new ones as a treat. The fur on the toy doesn't come off, so there's no worry of it coming loose in the dogs mouth or causing a mess on the carpet. What I also love about this toy, is that if it becomes very dirty or left outside in the rain, it can be easily washed because of it's material. Price; .... I am still waiting for this toy to be available from the pound shop! Haha, if it ever did become sold at the pound shop or at the pound stretcher store, I would probably buy about 10 to keep a stock in! This toy varies in price depending on where you are buying it! It is £3.99 from Pets at Home which is the most expensive I've seen it at. The toy isn't shown on the Wilkinson's website but the last time I checked in store it was £2.99 or £1.99 for the smaller toy which is about half the size. However the smaller toy I would say is only suitable for very small dogs or puppies, as it would be too small for even my miniature Jack Russell! Because the toy is easily torn, it's always important to check the toy every time the dog has played with it to ensure they won't be eating or choking on any stuffing! However due to the material of the toy, it is easily repaired! A few stitches and its ready to go! I gave it a 5 star because it's great for my dog! Thank you for reading, I also post on Ciao
