May suit some pets more than others

The Happy Pet Studded Dumb Bell Dog Toy is something we bought for our dog to use a chewy bone toy. Its something that hasn't been one of her favorites by any means, but might suit other dogs a bit more. Because of that we felt it was something that was worth reviewing here. As its now been added as a product I can share my thoughts.

The Studded Dumb Bell Dog Toy that we bought was made under the Happy Pets brand, which is a brand we have bought a number of products from before. The toy is well made and in fact had plenty of weight to it, it doesn't feel cheap in any way but does have a slight rubbery smell to it which isn't too offensive at all. It looks very attractive to the eye and so stands out well.

When we bought our Studded Dumb Bell Dog Toy it was just £1.99 which was a good price, as it can be on sale for as much as £2.99 in some shops. What we got for our pennies was a heavy bone shaped chew toy that really does feel very solid. It has a series of small spiked bits which stand out from the ends of each dumb bell. These are not rough and sharp, but have rounded tips and add plenty of texture for our dog to chew on.

The product also has a hidden addition to it which takes the form of a ringing bell, that makes a small tinkly sound when the bone toy is moved about. We thought that as our dog is very partial to squeaky type dog toys, she may find the addition of the bell which is inside the bone toy rather fun. I have to say that sadly she is not in any way very stimulated by the bell aspect and has mostly seemed rather indifferent to this toy.

The fact that our dog has not really enjoyed the chew toy may be just that she is a bit fussy about what she likes, as the product certainly looks like lots of fun. When we have thrown the toy in the garden for her to fetch, she sometimes will fetch it if in the right mood, but very often just looks at it as if to say ' yeah what ever'. This is a bit of a shame, but she knows what she likes and its not this toy.

The toy is something that was cheap to buy so it wasn't a major loss that our dog hasn't taken to it. I would say it seems as though its built to last and the swirly blue, red and white colours used to form the bone shape do make it look very eye catching. The textured bits add a bit of interest and the bell completes that.

To rate this product I have to take into account how it has worked with our dog. As she is really not fussed with it at all, I can only give it 3 stars. I still feel some other dogs might find this toy fun and so would say it may be worth a punt if bought cheaply.
