James Marketing Jumbo Zebra Dog Toy

We came across this toy in a local pet store and as soon as I saw it I thought that we had to get it for our puppy. This is a cute toy but it is also quite a large toy and suits my larger breed labradoodle perfectly. He likes any toys that he can get his teeth on but he does like his soft toys. Most of the time we only ever come across smaller toys and it's nice to be able to get something that is a bit more suited to his size.

This toy is noisy, it squeaks and it rattles, of course the nosier the better (or at least for the puppy) making it perfect for throwing games and getting him to pay attention to it. He often shakes this about while doing a mad dash around the house, since having this toy it has fast become one of the selected favourites.

There is one compliant that I do have about this zebra toy, the wool hair was too easily chewed off by my pup, who has the bad habit of eating things that he really shouldn't. In the end I took a pair of scissors and gave the Zebra a haircut, so we now have a bald zebra.
I like the colouring of this toy, instead of being white and black it is more of a dirty cream colour, which with a messy pup means that this doesn't look dirty as quickly as it would if it was a white colour.

I paid £9.99, which is expensive for a dog toy but he is very gentle with his soft toys so they do tend to get a bit of longevity in our house. Be warned thou I can imagine that a lot of dogs would just shred this or tear it to pieces with the minimal amount of effort, the stitching although done well is far from indestructible.

As with all of my pup's toys they get dirty and when it gets to the point where I think 'eugh', I put them through the washing machine. They either survive or they don't but sometimes they just need a good clean. I have washed this toy at high temperatures and after it dried out it was as good as new with all the squeaks still squeaking.

Although it might be tempting with its long dangling legs this toy isn't suitable for tug games, especially, with larger stronger pups who will have a leg off in no time whatsoever.

This toy gets a five out of five stars from me but more importantly it has went down a treat with the little pup.
