With Daisy the poodle loving to chew so much the other week I went out and bought loads of things for her to play and chew with in Pets At Home. I buy alot of things around and about but with raw hide products (which are made from some sort of animal skin) I prefer to get it from places that are reputable as rawhide can pose a risk when chewed and swallowed if your not very careful!

These little shoes cost 75p each which is very reasonable and they measure in at the small one being H 4 x W 6 x D 12cm and the larger one being 6 x W 7 x D 18cm however I only ever get Daisy the smaller one of the two due to her small size.

Rawhide is great at keeping teeth healthy and Daisy nibbles on products such as this every day usually however the small parts on this do pose a choking hazard so I do have to watch her with this particular product.

The shoe is just that really, made of robust cream coloured rawhide. The bottom is stitched up kind of thing with a thin strip of rawhide to the main of the shoe and then the front of the shoe it is laced up and secured the same way. Its a nice size for Daisy and nice and light too and she loves anything like this.

The first thing Daisy tries to do though is pick at the 'stitching', like I say this is a concern of mine and I watch like a hawk believe me and when shes undone it I bin it which does leave the shoe in pieces. It does go soggy, again you need to watch a dog with smaller parts at all times and I do chuck it out before any harm comes to her as I am wary as I have seen Daisy choke before and it scared me big time.

Daisy loves this and I do think its a nice idea but I'm not overly comfortable or confident in giving her these and prefer something that doesn't contain smaller parts, which is really what I usually buy nowadays more than these.
