My sister recommended this to me as she has the pet flasher for her dog, she was worried about me out walking in winter months in the pitch black alone with my 3 dogs. I followed her advise and bought 3 for my 3 dogs. I bought them from amazon using my last dooyou voucher. They cost £4.49 each and was delivered free of charge. Amazon is great and fast to buy from, i had them 2 days later. I must say mine is slightly different from the picture here as it is bone shaped but is still from the same brand playful pets. It comes with a cardboard packaging with lots of information on it, like instructions and so on. The flasher is bone shaped and made of red plastic, has a metal clip that clips on to the dog collar onto the metal d-ring. The flasher came with batteries, which doesnt happen often nowadays, can buy the small batteries very cheap but i havent had to replace them yet and i have had it for a year now. The flasher has 2 very brights led lights, they can be seen from a distance of 1/2 a mile away! This is fantastic as my dog loves to be let off the lead and likes to run ahead. It lets me and other dog walkers know where my dogs are and is useful for car drivers to. The flasher can be used for many purposes. Can be clipped on to back packs and even to childrens jackets for the darker nights. I am very happy with the flasher and think safety is important for my family and my dogs are a big part of my family. Its a good quality product and has lasted me ages and has plenty of wear left in it. Its very bright and covers a large distance. I give this 5 dooyoo stars
I heard about the Playful Pets Hi-Visibilty Safety Flasher from a friend of mine who swore by it for the dark winter months when she would take her black labrador out for his usual walk at 6pm - she said the flasher made it alot easier to spot him in the dark and recommended that I get one for Ben. Even though he is tan coloured and black, I thought it would still be a good idea for him to have one for those just in case moments. I purchased the flasher from Amazon and it cost me 99p and free postage so it didn't exactly break the bank. It arrived and was attached to cardboard with clear plastic holding the flasher in place. The packaging was bright blue with a picture of a Beagle on it, stating what the product was. The irem comes with the flasher itself, 3 batteries and a further 3 spare batteries which are watch style batteries. The actual flasher is silver in colour and made from a keyring metal material. There is a keyring style clip at the top which you open by sliding the button down on the back and then just attach it to your dogs collar and release the button for the clip to close again for the flasher to be securly attached to your dogs collar. The bottom of the flasher is where the LED light is. The flasher is only about an inch in size so it isn't going to make your dog look like he or she is covered in bling :) The packaging of the flasher states that the LED light allows you visibilty from half a mile away and it will retain its brightness from that distance. To make the flasher work it is just a case of twisting the bottom of it and it when you want to start using it and it will start to flash red, blue and white intermittantly. We first tried this out at the park near to us and let Ben off of the lead. Before I did, I made sure the LED light was working on his collar and off he went. It was pitch black and although I could make Ben out, it was the flasher which made it possible to "see" where he was at all times. It flashed brightly and both my husband, daughter and I could all see it. It made it easy to see if Ben was going to far away from us and enabled us to call him back and see that he was returning to us. I am so pleased with this product and it is definately one of the best things I have purchased as a dog owner. And for 99p I think it was an absolute bargain. It has stayed attached to his collar all year and I have just tested it and it still works perfectly. I haven't yet had to change the batteries either and it is still as bright as the day it was purchased. Absolutely brilliant!
Playful Pets Hi-Visibility Safety Flasher I have an adorable although mischievous black labradoodle and he is all black, which makes him a nightmare to try and keep an eye on at night time. We have a rather large back garden which is very dark, even when I put the exterior lights on the very back of the garden is pitch black and of course that is where the pup always goes to do his late night pees. He is getting a bit older now so I have been giving him a bit more independence and not stalking him wherever he goes outside, but I still like to be able to see him. It's not the first time I have gotten a bit frantic that he has disappeared only to see him peeping from behind the summer house or underneath the hedging. When this arrived with the mail and I opened it I was initially a bit disappointed at how small and a bit tacky that it looked. I realised that this wasn't an expensive purchase, but nevertheless I was expecting more than what I got. This safety light is essentially a small metal casing with LED lights at the bottom and a clip, overall it is very small and when next to my large breed puppy it looks absolutely tiny. To turn this on after you have put the batteries in is simple just turn and let the flashing begin. It flashes, blue, red and a white light. However, after a couple of days use the blue stopped working so ours only flashes white and red. You are meant to clip this to the loop on your dog's collar and when he is in the dark it should make him easy to spot. It is not meant to provide much light so won't act as a torch but it is meant to make locating him in the dark, quicker, easier and all around less stressful. I would be surprised if this lasts a month, so far we have been using it for a week and it hasn't impressed. You are meant to be able to see this light for up to 100 meters, however, I struggle to see it only a few meters away. Due to the device being so small in comparison to my pup his hair seems to swamp it and block out the light. I bought this from Amazon for £2.85, which is very cheap but then you are getting a very cheap product. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone and it really hasn't done the job I bought it for. Sadly, this isn't the best example of these safety flashers that are available. I think that this barely deserves a two out of five stars. This is a great idea but it is just badly executed.
