Advantages: Handy, good design

When you travel with dogs its vitally important to carry lots of water around with you. I always make sure I have some water for Eddie and its especially important in this hot weather to keep them properly hydrated. He runs round like a crazy dog sometimes and comes back to us panting extremely hard like he's never had a drink in his life so water is very important for him too.

Its a pain sometime though if we take Eddie out for the day to carry water, a water bowl etc etc so thats why this water bottle from the RAC is great. I got it in an RAC car pack that also included a dog car seat cover and a window vent guard. I initially bought the pack just for the car seat cover as I needed this for my new car when I took Eddie out and didn't really think I would use the bottle but its been a really good tool and one I'm now glad that I got.

The water bottle is really cleverly made and designed. The bottle is just a regular plastic water bottle but it sits in a plastic case which opens up and actually becomes a little water tray that allows your dog to drink out of it. I find this really handy as it means you do not have to bring a separate water bowl to put the water in, you can just use this and then it folds back away for your to store it easily and without mess. That way like I've said above you do not need to bring lots of things out with you just for your dog to have a drink.

I find the case and bottle will stand up well on their own once you have added the water to the case but if you have a bit of an over zealous dog the whole thing does have the ability to tip over quite easily so I find its better if I hold it and let Eddie drink out of it, ok this is a bit of a pain sometimes but we are on the go anyway and he is just having a quick water break so its not too much of a hassle. I also find it best not to fill the water up to its capacity as it does leak a little bit and its better to keep it upright when you are transporting it.

The bottle will hold 0.5 litres of water which is enough for a short journey and half a day out I would say. Obviously you can take more water with you and fill this bottle up but for a short time this is plenty for us. A clever idea and a great one for your dog.
