Advantages: Leather, strong and really well made

Disadvantages: None for me

My Jack Russell Molly may be getting on in years but she still has bundles of energy and still loves getting her daily walks and runs around the park. She can be a little bit excitable when on her lead so I need one that is strong and of good quality. To be honest I have had loads of leads over the years but at the minute I am using a combination of an extending lead when we have loads of time on our walks for her to explore and a simple shorter Trixie lead when we have less time and I need her to not get too distracted.

The leather lead from Trixe is really good quality so I can take Molly a walk without worrying it is going to break or snap and be confident in the fact that the clasp will hold if we see another dog or cat.
It is made from Buffalo leather which is black in colour and you can tell it is better quality than some other imitation leather leads just by the feel and look of it.
It is one of the few leads that is actually comfortable for me to hold on to for prolonged periods of time though this does take a little time as the leather needs to soften a little before it becomes soft and comfortable.

The lead is three way adjustable which just means that you can make the lead smaller or longer which I appreciate depending on where Molly and I are taking our walks.
The clips are excellent quality and they are really strong and secure when clipped on and no matter how much molly might pull they don't give way. Although Molly is only a Jack Russell I would be confident enough to use this lead on a much larger dog too as it is so strong and well made.

The clasp can also be easily replaced which was one of the main selling points when it came to this lead as I was sick of then coming off and having to throw away the lead. Luckily the clasp has never come off yet but I like the fact that if and when it does it doesn't mean that I will have to throw it away especially now the leather is used and soft.

I was also a little worried about the leather stretching and snapping over time as leather tends to do this on leads when used with a dog that pulls. The leather on this lead however has barely stretched at not to any noticeable degree.

I cannot recommend this lead highly enough to be honest. It cost me less than a tenner and is still for sale at less than £10 on most websites and I think that this is a fabulous price for a proper leather lead never mind one that is also such good quality as well.

Summary: A great value leather lead
