      A really good chew toy.

As someone who had never had a dog before i assumed i wasn't going to be the best person to get all the stuff we needed for our new puppy, but i was of course volunteered whilst my husband went to pick her up!

After a seemingly never ending shopping trip to pets at home, i finally came away with what i deemed the right stuff, and even managed to purchase a few chew toys for her too, though this one in partiuclar has had the most use, with it being (in my humble opinion anyway!) the least exciting looking toy of the bunch!

The ring itself is made from a very sturdy and dense rubber, making it almost solid and reasonably heavy, heavy enough in fact that i was surprised that Belle was able to pick it up, let alone run around growling at it, whilst it hangs from her mouth!

I am told that like children, Belle will soon start loosing her baby teeth (though not all of them like i was expecting, i was looking forward to her not nipping me when she gets excited!), and due to her teeth irritating her she will get a bit more chewy and nippy around the 11- 12 week age, which would be now!

The ring is nice and dense enough for Belle to have a really good chomble on, perfect for teething pains, but she also seems to find it fascinating that she can carry it in her mouth, but with a quick flip of her head she can actually wear it and keep it in her mouth too, (making her look like a gimp!), though she will soon be unable to do this as she is growing at a ridiculous rate!

We have had the ring for five weeks now, and it is showing signs of being chewed (which is unsuprising as Belle's teeth are like needles!), but has not started to disintigrate like some of the lesser toys have (we have had three casualties already!), at that point it will have to be thrown away, but the ring is still going strong!

Price wise i pucrhased this from my local Pets at home, for around the £4.00 mark, which for how well it seems to be holding up is fantastic value.

I would highly recommend this product, it is hard wearing and perfect for when your puppy is teething.

      Thanks for reading x

      Trixie Rubber ring

Eddie the dog loves his toys. He is a very excitable cocker spaniel and so needs lots of things to keep him entertained. He does not like to be left alone so on the unfortunate times we do leave him alone we like him to have something to play with to keep him entertained and make sure he doesn't get bored and get up to mischief. We have to find toys that are quite hard wearing and solid as his little teeth can bite through things quite well and he tears most soft toys apart in a matter of days.

This rubber ring is great. Its made of a very tough natural rubber and is the type that you cannot really bend and doesn't give much but this is great as it really gives Eddie a chewing workout. The packaging actually tells you that the rubber yields to the bite of your dog and so prevents teeth damage which is great as that is the last thing you want from a toy.

As well as being a chew toy this ring actually works well as a toy you can play with with your dog too. I like the fact that I can throw it and Eddie will go fetch it so we also make a game out of throwing and catching the ring too. This is much better than throwing a tennis ball which he can bite and destroy quite quickly. Eddie can fit the ring nicely into his mouth as its a round shape because he can just bite down on one side of the ring. This makes it easy for him to fetch it or to carry it around with him in his mouth.

We've had this ring for a few months now and so far it looks almost as good as new although quite dirty as we've played with it in the woods behind our house. Its got a few chew marks in it but not rips or tears where his teeth have bitten into it which is nice. I can see this ring lasting for quite a long time yet. I believe these come in lots of different colours, we got ours in red which is great because it shows up in grass and under bushes etc.

We bought ours for about £3 I believe, a very good price for a good dog toy.

The dimensions of the ring are given as:

      Diameter- 15 cm
      Thickness - 2.5
      Weight - 0.3 kg
