I mentioned in a review the other day that I had been dog sitting for my parents in law. We have been looking after the lovely Toby as they have been going away at the weekends and it's sadly no dogs allowed! They have been visiting a poorly relative but it means we have been looking after Toby. The first couple of weekends that we had him, he was really good and just lay on the floor in the lounge and then slept on the landing whilst we were in bed but I felt sorry for him so being the soft touch that I am I wanted to get him a dog bed. He has a bed at home but I wanted him to have something here without having to spend a great amount of money so I started looking online and I ended up purchasing a dog bed from the Zooplus website and here are my thoughts on it.


The website is one that I have used many times before, but for buying cat presents, this was a new thing for me and I didn't want to spend a great deal of money, I know we won't have Toby every weekend but we do have him when my parents in law go away so I didn't mind making a small investment. The bed that I brought was the Trixie Sammy Snuggle bed and it cost me £15.00. I did look around at others and this seemed a reasonable price to pay. The beds can be found in the larger pet stores but I found it was more expensive.


I brought the bed from the Zooplus website as I mentioned and for the price I think I have had a good deal. The one that I have is the 70cm in diameter, there is a smaller 50cm diameter and the larger 90cm diameter bed but the middle one was great for Toby. The bed is a mixture of blacks, creams and beiges in colour and the print is giant paw prints, to me it looks really cute and really cosy. The bed is a round shape as opposed to many of the oval bed shapes that you can get these days.


We are told by Trixie that the bed is suitable for small to medium dogs and that there is a fleece over over the black and white polyester lining. We first put this down in the living room to see what Toby made of it, he gave it a sniff and walked around it a little bit but he didn't show that much interest. What I liked was that he then wandered off towards it when he thought we were not looking! Toby then stepped into it and it took a few minutes before he sat in it and when he did sit in it he didn't get himself all cosy but he sat up in it.


It was when we moved the bed upstairs and went to go to sleep ourselves that he got into the bed and really relaxed, and relaxed he did., This bed was a comfy material and it was so soft so must have felt very comforting to Toby . He seemed to enjoy sitting in the middle and then falling asleep with his head on the side which did look really cute.


The bed was definitely a hit and that was over a month ago now and I can say that Toby really does like it. I would be more than happy to recommend it and I think it is a good quality. It can be washed on a 30 degree heat and it is also reversible so you can change it around for pattern as well as for ware and tear.
