A great rug for bathed dogs needed to dry and keep warm

After doing my first review on a dog coat I thought I would start reviewing my dogs wardrobe as it is becoming pretty extensive. Now I must clarify that my dogs only wear dog rugs from Weatherbeeta and do not model any other outfits that are on the market such as t-shirts, hoodies etc! After finding out about the Weatherbeeta Landa dog rug I went on Weatherbeeta's website and saw their range of dog rugs and one that looked appealing was the Thermocell dog rug.

When my dogs are at the yard with me they get incredibly filthy, generally covered in mud. This means that they get washed quite often or at least sponged down in the colder months. I don't want them to suffer and be cold when they have been washed so just like I do with the horses I put the Thermocell dog rug which wicks away the moisture from the dogs coat, ensuring that they are kept warm but are dried quicker. I don't want my dogs standing around damp and cold so when they have the Thermocell dog rug on they are at least warm, especially if they are having to wait in the car for me.

The Thermocell dog rug has a honeycomb effect material which is made from a wool and acrylic blend, which makes the rug quite strong but incredibly soft. The fabric enables the wicking effect (taking out the moisture) but also lets the dogs skin breath through the rug so they don't overheat.

The rug is fastened by a front strap which is held by Velcro. The front strap isn't adjustable but the velco fastening is quite long so you can make it as comfortable for your dog as you don't want it too tight on your dogs chest. There is an adjustable strap which goes underneath the dogs belly and fixes to Velcro. The strap is incredibly soft but strong so it won't rub against your dog. Ideally, the strap needs to be loose but not too loose underneath you dog as it may get caught.

The Thermocell dog rug is machine washable which for me is ideal as it gets washed once a week. It can go on a cool wash and has to be dried naturally as it cannot be tumble dried.

The Thermocell dog rug comes in sizes ranging from 30cm to 70cm and you should measure your dog from the scruff of the neck to the base of the tail. Currently the rug is available in navy and silver but I originally bought this rug is blackberry (yes, very sophisticated!) and it was also available in chocolate/ pecan and if you search online you'd probably find it. The thermocell dog rug costs around £15 but its worth shopping around as the price can vary.

Both my dogs don't mind wearing these rugs but I think it does help that the fabric is soft and fits both dogs nicely. Some people might think it's a bit excessive about buying dogs fleece rugs but for me I like to know that my dogs are warm and dry. Ideal for any dog after they have been washed in the colder months to keep them dry and I would recommend them to any dog owner.
