A good offering in my opinion

When Jess was coming to stay with me recently when my ex husband was going on holiday I needed to pop out and get some supplies. My normal point of call for pet accessories is pets at home and so I went off to the nearest store.

When I was there I picked up the pets at home adult complete chunks in pate. Jess is usually fed dried food but loves to have some meaty food every now and then as a treat. This doesn't upset her stomach in any way and so I thought I would allow her a treat for a few days!

The product that I picked up was the poultry version of the chunks in pate and it comes in a pack of six 150g trays for £2.85 which I think is an average sort of price. The trays come in a silver box which has a picture of a small Jack Russell on the front. There is a lot of information on the box which I will get to later. We are told on the box that the adult complete range is for dogs aged 1-7. Whoops! Jess was eight going on nine at the time but I don't think I have done her any harm with this!

In this pack of six trays you get 3 trays of food with turkey and pasta and 3 trays of food with chicken and mushroom meaning your dog is less likely to become bored with the same tasting food each day if they are a fussy eater.

The trays of dog food are wheat and gluten free and also contain a pro biotic. The food claims to have a high meat content (as a minimum 14%) which means your dog will be able to digest the food easily. They also add vitamins to the food but do not add any colorants, flavourings or preservatives which means your dog is not getting anything unnecessary in their food.

Each tray contains 150g of the dog food. To get to the food you need to peel pack the foil lid. You can then use a spoon to put the food into your dog's dish. I always chop it up with the spoon into smaller chunks or Jess would no doubt try and eat it all in one go! Depending on your dogs size they may need anything up to seven of these trays a day! Now what I do is give Jess one of these along side her usual dried food just to mix things up a little bit for her, and of course this is a cheaper alternative as well.

I have to say that Jess really enjoyed these trays of dog food mixed in with her usual dried food and she always polished off all of it which must mean she liked them! I would buy these trays again in the future I think but only to mix with her dried food as I feel they are a little small to be using as your main meal every day if you have a larger breed dog such as Jess.

Pets at home do offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee with their food so if your dog does not like the food for any reason or you are not happy with your purchase you can take it back and they will refund it at the purchase price. This is obviously good to know as really you can try this product without any risk to your pennies as they will refund you if you have any issues with the product!
