Tesco Premium Chunks in Jelly - Well worth trying.

I originally started my dog out on Pedigree Puppy food and moved on to the adult variety. Recently though, I have been trying to save a bit of money, so decided to try him with Tesco's premium chunks in jelly. I was glad when he wolfed it down happily.

Tesco's premium chunks can be bought singly or in packs of 6 or 12. I am now buying them in the 12 pack at a cost of £5.11, which is very good value compared to other brands. If you want to buy a single can, to try it out, it will cost 46p and the 6 pack is £2.73.

The ingredients are similar to other tinned dog foods with 4% lamb & 4% turkey. This sounds like a tiny amount, the rest being made up with cereals and minerals, but even Pedigree has this amount of meat in their tins.

I am pleased to say that Tesco's premium chunks don't smell too strong, the meat is chunky and is surrounded by jelly, but not too much of it. I also use Tesco's mixer with it to give some added crunch, which my dog loves.

I am very happy with Tesco's Premium chunks in jelly. They are good value and my dog really enjoys eating it which is the most important thing. He is also thriving and full of energy and bounce, so the quality must be good!

I would be happy to recommend this product and give it 5 stars.

        Dog food in jelly.

This is a complete pet food for dogs and comes in a tin with a ring pull on the lid for easy opening. The label is black with a border collie on the front. Each flavour has its own distinct colour band around the label, this one is green. It also tells you that it has vitamin & mineral enriched.

        --------------------
        So what's in it?
        --------------------
The label reads as follows: minimum 4% lamb, minimum 4% turkey, minerals, with colourants: EC Additives.

        It has 80% moisture, 8.5% protein, oils & fats 5%, ash 2.5%, fibre 0.4%.

        Feeding Guide
        ---------------------
If you have a small dog and only feeding this food you will need 2 cans a day, for a medium dog 2 - 4 cans, a large dog 4 - 7 cans.

Each can is 400g and costs £0.43 per can. Can also be bought in multi-packs of different sizes.

        What's It Like?
        --------------------
On opening the tin there was a lot of jelly, in fact it was like the tin had been coated in jelly then the food put in the middle!!. I found it quite hard to get some food out with all the jelly and it didn't really mix very well with the biscuits. On finally getting the meat out of the tin there were lots of chunks of meat, all a very light brown/grey in colour. I wasn't too keen on the smell of this one.

Nemo didn't seem to like this food too much. He ate it but not as quickly as the ones in gravy. I'll not be buying him this one again.
