as you are no doubt aware, I have reviewed a large number of figurines contained within my Betty Boop collection. However, there were quite a few that were not previously available on Amazon and as a result, I was unable to product suggest them to Dooyoo. Fortunately, they have now once again available, so a number of suggestions were made, together with the accompanying photographs and this review discusses Soldier Betty.
I purchased this cute figurine several years ago when I initially started collecting Bettys and for some reason, the manufacturer, namely Hearst Holdings Inc created two Soldier Bettys - one with a white sleeveless top and the other wearing a khaki top, as shown in the above photograph, which is the one that I own. Betty is manufactured entirely from resin and is firmly fixed to a circular stand, which has been designed to look like grass with tiny pieces of brown to depict earth and leaves. She stands at 12 inches in height and weighs just under a kilogram.
Betty is clearly on a mission, as she proudly wears her Army uniform where we are able to see her in an extremely tight fitting khaki coloured sleeveless top and matching baggy trousers, which neatly tuck inside the top of her black chunky boots. If you are familiar with Betty Boop you will be aware that she is a lady who adores beautiful clothes, high heeled shoes and lots of sparkling jewellery. Obviously, she would be unable to wear her all of her favoured items during the call of duty, so she has settled for the flat heeled boots, which have been perfected designed to create tiny button holes and laces and resemble that of Doc Martins!
I fear that Betty's figure hugging sleeveless top may cause a bit of a stir amongst her male colleagues, particularly as it clearly displays her rather ample chest! We are able to witness a black belt with a silver buckle, which fits neatly around her curvaceous waist and for some reason Betty has chosen to wear a necklace! Her right arm proudly salutes whilst her left hand rests firmly on her left hip. How Betty has got away with wearing long dangling earrings I really do not know, as this figure shows her wearing a large pair of shiny silver stars.
On the side of Betty's head we are able to see her proudly wearing her matching khaki beret, which perches on top of her curls. In all of the other figurines that I own we are able to see eight black curvy points, which run along the top of Betty's head and these are intended to depict her curls with a further eight curvy waves that run along her hairline. The workmanship in the figurine is as perfect as the others I own, as the designers have created tiny ripples and creases in the resin of Betty's Army uniform to make it appear like real fabric.
The final touches are Betty's make up, as this cute little female always looks stunning with her huge green eyes that look sideways, her long black eyelashes and ruby red puckered lips. To complete her look she wears a small amount of blusher on each of her cheeks. Cleaning this figurine is extremely easy particularly as there are no hard to reach areas and the task is something I carry out only a few times a year with a small clean paintbrush. To ensure your figurine's authenticity, the name of the manufacturer, together with a small image of Betty, can be found on the underside of the base.
If you are interested in purchasing Betty Boop Soldier she is currently available on Amazon from several traders with the cheapest at £40.00 + £4.62 postage and packing. This figurine comes to you with my huge recommendation and consequently, I can give it no less than 5 stars.
I hope you found my review useful and would thank you for reading.
