      Another gorgeous Betty Boop collectable

I'm an avid fan of Betty Boop and for the past 4 years I've been purchasing the gorgeous figurines, which take pride of place in seven glass display cabinets that are located in the corner of my living room. Whilst there are hundreds of smaller collectables ranging from heights of approximately 3 cm I tend to favour the larger figurines, particularly as they capture much more detail. One of the pieces that joined my collection a few years ago is Betty Boop Disco and this review discusses my experience with owning this gorgeous collectable.

You may not be aware that the owners of the Betty Boop trademark are The Hearst Holdings Inc and their name and logo will appear on the underside of the majority of the figurines that I own. Approximately a dozen of the collectables were designed by David Kracov with all of the figurines being hand painted and manufactured from marble resin as opposed to simply resin. As I am such an enthusiast of Betty Boop I am easily able to identify a Kracov piece at just one glance, as their appearance differs slightly to those made of resin and the figurines are multi-coloured as opposed to mainly focusing on one key colour.

Betty Boop Disco stands at 30 cm and is firmly fixed to a black circular glossy base to enable her to be safely displayed. She is fairly heavy and I would estimate that she is in excess of a kilogram. I adore the appearance of this 70's style figurine, as the bright colours on her mini dress are extremely eye catching. There are swirls of blue, red and green; all of which have been carefully hand painted and the patterned sections displaying a peach coloured half moon shape with a daisy like flower in the centre give the dress a real 70's feel.

Her hippy appearance sleeves are narrow at her shoulders and the marble resin has been designed in such a way to create fullness at her narrow wrists where her petite hands are turned upwards. A grumble I sometimes have with some of the resin figurines is that Betty's fingers are sometimes a little scruffy where two fingers may have been accidentally joined. However, I own around 8 of the David Kracov figurines and each and every one of them displays perfect hands where each of Betty's slender fingers are clearly defined.

Betty has the most curvaceous figure and her dress has been created in such a way that there are tiny folds in the marble resin fabric, which draw attention to her tiny waist. Her long slim legs are perfectly toned and on her feet Betty wears a pair of white coloured high heeled platform style boots, which have resin laces where they are tied into a tiny bow at the top of her calves. The touch of the figurine differs considerably from those that are made from resin and it feels of a much superior quality although I consider the resin ones to be of a high quality.

Betty's gorgeous black curls are always illustrated with eight curvy black spikes that run along the top of her head where we are normally able to witness a further eight running around her hairline. However, in this figurine Betty wears a bandana, which has been painted to match that of her dress, so we are able to only witness four of the curvy spikes around her hairline. I always mention Betty's facial features in my reviews, but they are identical in each of my figurines with the exception of one or two and this collectable shows her huge green eyes looking upwards, her long black eyelashes, perfectly groomed eyebrows and ruby red puckered lips.

This is an absolutely stunning collectable and what I love about the Kracov creations is that Betty's skin offers an ivory appearance, which looks absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, Betty Boop Disco isn't as readily available as the other figurines that I own, but she regularly appears on Amazon. At the time of writing she can be purchased for £50 from an online company by the name of Yellow Zebra, but I am unable to speak of my experience having never used the company. I have had a quick check on ebay and there is currently a brand new one available for sale.

This is such a gorgeous collectable that comes with my full recommendation and as a result, Betty Boop Disco receives 5 stars from me.

I hope you found my review useful and would thank you for reading.
