“ Manufacturer: Middle England / Type: Betty Boop Figurine „
Apologies for the layout of this review, but I am unable to format it any differently as Dooyoo will now allow me to do so.
I am a huge fan of an adorable lady by the name of Betty Boop and have amassed a large amount of gorgeous figurines over the past four years. A purchase that I made a few months ago with some Amazon vouchers is named Betty Boop Holding Flowers and this review discusses the stunning collectable, which was introduced in 2009. The resin figurine is fairly heavy with a weight of over a kilogram and stands at 15 inches in height. Whilst many of the figurines are firmly attached to a glossy circular base the underside of Betty's dress has been used in this case where there are four small circular felt pads to ensure she is safely and securely displayed.
Betty is a tall, slim and extremely curvaceous lady and her stunning strapless red dress tightly hugs her figure and as a consequence, gives her a glamorous appearance. However, saying that, Betty always looks stunning regardless of what she wears. The figurine has been designed by The Hearst Holdings Inc who are also the owners of the Betty Boop trademark and no attention to detail has been spared as each section of the dress has been carefully created to provide the illusion of creases in the resin fabric as it perfectly flows towards Betty's feet. The gorgeous figurine has been carefully hand painted and despite scrutinising Betty I can find absolutely no flaws.
Betty is a lady who loves to show her flesh and the resin "fabric" of the dress separates at the top of her left thigh where her long and slender leg is on display. Betty's tiny fingers tightly grasp a small bunch of deep pink roses, which are absolutely stunning, as they have been perfectly created to illustrate the tiny petals and pale green leaves. The rear of her dress is absolutely spectacular as the bodice section forms a point at her waist with the fabric fitting snugly around her bottom. The dress flows into a fantail shape at her feet and fans back out to create a full appearance on the floor.
Betty wears a golden coloured pearl necklace around her petite neck and her ears are adorned with matching hoop earrings. Her beautiful black glossy curls are depicted by eight curvy points that run along the top of her head with eight curves situated around her hairline. Whilst Betty's facial features rarely differ from one figurine to the next, her appearance is slightly different as her normally puckered lips appear as if she is surprised. Her huge green eyes are looking sideways and display her long black eyelashes, which are framed by her perfectly groomed eye brows.
I am often asked which of the figurines I favour the most and whilst I am fond of them all for very different reasons, I absolutely adore this one due to its size as she stands out from the others. My other reason is that the colours of the beautiful red dress catch the light when she in one of my illuminated glass display cabinets. The manufacturer has carefully considered every aspect when creating this figurine as she is sheer perfection and for that reason, receives 5 stars from me together with a full recommendation. Betty is easily cleaned with a cloth and I use a small clean paintbrush to access the dust that collects between the folds of resin fabric. Located on the underside of the figurine is the familiar logo belonging to The Hearst Holdings Inc, which ensures the authenticity.
Despite this being one of the older figurines she is widely available in black or red and at the time of writing she can be purchased on Amazon for £58 inclusive of postage and packing.
I hope you found my review useful and thanks for reading.
