For those of you who are new to my reviews I would advise that I am an avid collector of Betty Boop figurines and I proudly own a collection that is fast approaching three figures. What initially started off as a purchase of just two figurines on my 40th birthday almost four years ago, has now grown to a rather alarming level, as I simply cannot resist the charms of this cute lady. The figurine I am reviewing today is one that joined my collection in the early days and I was of the opinion that I had discussed it a good while ago. Her name isn't particularly memorable, as she is simply called Betty Boop Leg Up Black Dress.

The resin figurine is one of the smallest I own and it measures 15 cm in height to the tip of her right toe and 12 cm in length. She is fairly heavy for her size and if I was to take a guess I would probably say she weighs approximately one third of a kilogram, as the larger 30 cm height figurines tend to weigh a kilogram. This is a suitably sized figurine for someone who is looking for their first Betty Boop purchase, as she is reasonably priced and takes up very little room as well as being very eye-catching when on display. Betty's body is posed in a rather sexy position, as shown in the image above. Her left leg is bent at the knee with her petite foot firmly fixed to the ground where we are able to witness her tiny high-heeled black stiletto shoes. Her right leg is outstretched into the air and we are able to witness that Betty is a perfectly toned lady, as her long slender leg appears to be perfectly proportioned where I am able to see the tiny muscles in her calves.

Betty wears a figure hugging backless swimsuit style costume, which has been designed in black with pretty light catching silver sparkles and it has been designed to firmly fit around her curvaceous bust and curve seductively towards her waist. This cute little lady is quite famous for her love of garters and this small figurine displays a golden one adorned with red heart, which she wears on her slim left thigh. Betty's arms are positioned behind her with the palms of her hands resting firmly on the ground to support her back. Betty has a passion for beautiful jewellery and we are able to witness a large golden chunky bangle on each of her tiny wrists. It is only now that I am studying the figurine that I realise I've been a little neglectful with the cleaning process, as her tiny fingers; all of which are perfectly defined, have gathered a little fluff, so after this review I will be reaching for a small clean paintbrush, which fits perfectly into those hard to reach areas.

Many people describe Betty's head as huge and rather strange, but as a passionate collector I would have to say that her head is rather cute and is the feature that makes this lady somewhat different. Her black glossy curls are always represented with eight curvy spikes that run along the top of her head with a further eight curves displayed around her face. To mirror her chunky bangles Betty wears a pair of matching earrings to complete her sexy look. Her facial features are what I love about this figurine where we see her huge beautiful green eye and I say that in the singular, as Betty's left eye is closed, so we are able to clearly see her long black eye lashes. Whilst I would never wish to own a pair of eyebrows similar to Betty's, particularly as they are very thick and black, they seem to go well with her face and to complete her look she wears ruby red lipstick on her puckered lips.

On the underside of Betty's bottom I am able to witness the manufacturer's logo, namely The Hearst Holdings Inc, so I have the assurance that my figurine is authentic. This is a fairly reasonably priced figurine and seems to differ greatly in cost from one retailer to the next. I paid around £20 for mine quite a few years ago, but some sellers are now charging up to £30. This collectable is readily available on Amazon and can also be purchased in a red dress, but for some unknown reason, the red one will cost you considerably more. As I am sure you have guessed I cannot recommend this figurine highly enough, as she is perfect in every way. Consequently, Betty receives 5 stars from me.
