For those of you who follow my reviews you will be aware that I am Betty Boop mad and own a rather large collection of beautiful figurines. My husband is never stuck for ideas when it comes to both birthdays and Christmas, as it's either figurines or toiletries; both of which I absolutely adore. I was clearly very good during 2010, as Santa left me quite a few beautifully wrapped boxes underneath the Christmas tree and I must admit that I had a little squeeze before the big day! On Christmas morning I was thrilled to discover some additional Bettys to add to my rather huge Betty Boop family and this review discusses one of the figurines from the Career Girl range and her name is Police Officer. The cute figurine stands at 12 inches in height and is manufactured entirely from resin. She is firmly fixed to a circular base and proudly wears some rather revealing Police Officer attire! I'm not quite sure how many criminals she is hoping to catch dressed in the way that she is, but if you are familiar with this adorable character you will be aware that Betty likes nothing more than showing plenty of naked flesh! She displays a very curvaceous figure and stands with her left leg slightly in front of her right and wears a rather modestly heeled pair of black single strapped shoes. These are quite sensible for Betty, as normally she wears extremely high heeled stilettos! However, the length of her black shiny skirt leaves a lot to be desired, as it is extremely short to say the least and only just covers her rear end! There is a black and white chequered patterned insert running down the side of her tiny skirt, which informs me that she is a member of the Metropolitan Police. Betty's white blouse is extremely tight and is very low cut and as with all of the other figurines I own this one displays her rather ample chest! Her left hand rests on her left buttock and hanging from her fingers are a pair of cute handcuffs, which appear extremely realistic! Whilst she is dressed in this attire I'm not quite sure what she intends doing with the handcuffs! What I absolutely adore about these stunning figurines is that the manufacturer always manages to create the illusion of fabric from the resin, as tiny creases are designed in the appropriate areas of her clothes. Betty proudly wears her Police cap with a gorgeous brim that displays the Metropolitan stripe to match her skirt insert and in the centre is the Police badge. Her gorgeous black glossy curls are normally depicted by eight cute points running along the top of her head. However, her cap covers the majority, so we are only able to see a couple each side. She wears a black and white chequered scarf around her tiny neck and to complete her look she wears a large pair of yellow hoop earrings, which, of course aren't particularly appropriate for a Police Officer, but she's Betty Boop, so she has to wear her jewellery! As with all of my other figurines Betty loves her make up and her facial expressions are generally the same where we see her huge green eyes looking in one direction, her long black eye lashes and puckered ruby red lips. To complete her look she wears a little blusher on each of her cheeks. Cleaning all of my Betty figurines used to be somewhat of a chore for me, particularly as I would use an ordinary yellow household duster, which frequently left tiny fibres on any raised areas. However, thanks to a kind Dooyoo member leaving a message against one of my previous reviews, the task is much simpler, as I now use a small clean paintbrush, which easily reaches into any awkward nooks and crannies. To ensure your figure's authenticity the name of the manufacturer, namely The Hearst Holdings Inc is located on the underside of your figurine, together with a small image of Betty Boop. This figurine is fairly new and is available from the majority of Betty Boop retailers. Whilst Police Officer Betty was previously available on Amazon I would advise that at the time of writing (2 January 2011) she is currently out of stock. The figurine will cost you £48.00 and the retailer on Amazon was charging an additional £4 for postage and packing. If you are interested I would advise to keep checking, as I'm sure she will once again be available. As this is such a cute figurine it receives 5 stars from me together with a huge recommendation.
