“ Manufacturer: Chad Valley / Type: Doll „
Since receiving her first proper baby doll on her second birthday, my daughter has been obsessed with her babies. Her collection seems to grow day by day, one day she come home from spending time with her nan clutching this Chad Valley babies to love doll.
The doll, my mum informed in, cost £5 and was purchased in our local Argos store. As it is a Chad Valley doll, Argos will be pretty much the only place you can purchase it from.
The doll is approximately 30 centimetres long, this is a good size for a doll with a low price. The doll is soft bodied with a hard head, forearms and bottoms of her legs. When I say hard, I wouldn't say rock hard, they are made from a strong plastic but it has a soft type feel to it despite being plastic. The soft body must be made from something a little like cotton wool as it is very lightweight to carry and isn't as squishy as some of my daughters other dolls.
There is already an outfit on the doll, this consists of a baby pink romper and matching hat. Both of these clothing items can be removed if you wish. My daughter went through a stage of taking off the clothes of all of her dolls and wouldn't let me dress them again. I think the clothes are fantastic as the hat is attached to the romper, we have had dolls with hats before but quite often lost the hat so this prevents that happening.
The doll is named Chad Valley babies to love Chloe doll, as the doll already had a name we carried it on and my daughter does call her Chloe, it's nice that we have a doll with a normal name, we have one called 'dolly', another called 'new dolly' and the like! Chloe has settled in to life with the other dolls brilliantly, my daughter plays with her in the same way she does with any of her others. We are going through a phase at the moment where my daughter likes to put these to bed in her play tent, but only a couple of her dolls close their eyes, this doll is another doll that doesn't have closable eyes and she gets quite frustrated telling Chloe to go nun-nights!
I'd definitely recommend this Chad Valley doll if you are looking for a cheap pocket money doll. The quality is great for the price paid, I would have preferred closable eyes but for the price I can't moan. My daughter loves Chloe, that's the main thing.
My youngest daughter loves babies and dolls and so we bought her this doll last Christmas when we were buying her sister a Baby Annabel doll.
I think I bought the doll was Argos although it may have been another toy store as the girls did get a little spoilt at Christmas so it is hard to remember. The doll wasn't expensive costing around £5 but this will have been in some sort of sale to be honest as I do collect presents all year around when I see good offers or sales.
The doll has a soft body and a hard head and limbs which means my daughter thinks she should be able to have the doll in bed with her which is why many mornings she has had leg and arm imprints on her face.
The doll is wearing an all in one sleepsuit which has a pale pink body and bright pink arms with a light blue heart shape on her chest. The doll also wears a hat which is pale pink with a bright pink edge, the hat simply pushes on and to be honest doesn't really stay on very well hence the reason I often get the hat and the doll flung at me.
The doll has a cute little face and her mouth is moulded so that your child can pretend to feed her with a bottle which my daughter does as she has a set of bottles one with pretend milk and one with pretend juice in them.
My daughter really loves this doll and she will play for ages pushing her up and down in the pushchair which she loves and pretending to feed her, she often comes to me and says doll and hands her to me which is when I have to give her a hug before handing her back.
The doll is durable as it has been played with just about every day for the last 8 months now, she does get a little grubby but a rub over with a damp cloth sorts it out. The doll was great value for money and a firm favourite in our house.
Baby to Love Doll is a very apt name as my youngest loves her "Baby" and she goes everywhere with us .I have to wrestle the doll from her arms at night to wash her!
The Doll is a soft bodied one so isn't suitable for washing in the bath as my youngest discovered the tears the followed after that! She comes wearing a two tone pink babygro complete with hat
This doll has plastic arms and legs and you can put a bottle in the baby's mouth.
This doll is the same size as the my first baby Annabel but is considerably cheaper and having received both I really couldn't say one is different to the other,
My daughter has had this doll for the last 2 years and it still looks like new I have washed the outfit numerous times and it is still a good vibrant pink unlike the other ones which have faded. I really recommend this doll as it isn't that expensive and it has lasted well.
I believe that this doll is available to purchase and will cost under £10.00 in fact I believe this was £4.00 in Woolworths which makes it a much more affordable option you can also get a travel cot, pushchair, spare clothes and changing bag for this Doll be warned however if you buy the pushchair that walking anywhere will take 5 times longer!
I have never been unhappy with Chad valley toys and I really think that this doll is a good quality doll which represents excellent value for money and really is truly loved by my little girl who at this moment is feeding her breakfast cereal !
