      brill toy!

I bought this in Toys R Us for my little girl, The age rating guide on this is 3 years plus, but my little girl was 2 when she had it and it was a firm favourite.... her favourite saying for about 3 months was "cuppa tea"!

Belle interacts with you in that when you lift your cup to your mouth belle does the same and talks to you (Be warned... for the parent Belles voice does start to grate on you!) also when you pour the kettle into the cup, fake tea comes out which sets off another sensor to make Belle talk.

I assumr this toy is battery run... but they must last for ages as we have never changed ours and it still works perfectly fine, despite the fact it gets a lot of useage!

I think it is very good for children and there development as it really helps there fine motor skills, pouring "tea" into a cup, a good first step before they can pour there ownn juice!

Overall I think its a very sweet toy and is brill for little ones... especially princess obsessed little ones!

        Great for older princess fans

My daughter is a huge fan of Disney Princess so I thought wow she will love this and she did. She doesn't play with it much as I think it gets boring pretending to pour tea and lift your cup. When you lift your cup to your mouth the censor in your saucer alerts Belle so she will lift and sip her drink. Also when you pour tea a plastic brown tuge (meant to be tea) comes out and when touches the bottom of your cup again the saucer sensor alerts Belle so she asks for some tea. She comes with a sugar bowl, 3 sugar cubes and a spoon. Her hair is nicely done with a hair net which my daughter has taken off and it wont go back on so her hair is now very messy! I think its best suited to older girls, 5+ and not 3 as per manufacturers guide.

Haven't talking dolls come a long way?

Both of my daughters are very big fans of the Disney princesses so there was a certain theme with some of the presents they were given this year, especially as Toys R Us had a good multi-buy offer on. This teatime Belle doll was an ideal gift for my three year old although I have to say that my five year old enjoys playing with her just as much!

Teatime Belle is a beautiful 15 inch high doll with long tresses of brown hir and she wears a beautiful lemon coloured dress. At first sight, my daughter fell in love with her, even before she discovered the amazing things that Belle can do!

Belle comes with her own set of tea time crockery based on the characters from the movie particularly Mrs Potts, the teapot. As well as the teapot there is a cup for Belle and another for the child who is playing with her along with a sugar bowl, lumps of sugar, spoon and a very important saucer. When you pour the teapot it actually looks like tea is coming out of the spout!

The first thing to note about Belle is that she is a talking doll. This is nothing like the talking dolls that I had as a child though when you had to pull a cord at the back of the doll's head and you could never understand a word that the doll said.

You start Belle talking by squeezing her hand.Whenever she starts talking the first thing that she does is introduce herself and then suggests very politely that you have tea together. She invites the child to pour the tea into the bigger cup that should be placed on the saucer. When this happens the tea pours into the cup and then the child lifts it in order to 'drink' the tea. Amazingly, at the same time, Belle lifts her cup to drink her tea too. The first time this happened my dughter ws so enthralled she could not believe - she was almost beside herself! She just had to keep having tea with Belle and I lost count of the number of cups they got through on Christmas morning!

My daughter thought it was magic but it does actually work through batteries (these are supplied) and it is important to place the cup and saucer in close proximity to Belle otherwise it won't work! Also if you leave Belle for a while, when you come back to her you always have to squeeze her hand in order to get her to wake up again. We kept forgetting this at first and I thought that the batteries were running out already - which of course they were not!

While having tea together, Belle has a number of different things she might say including 'uh-oh...this tea is a little bit hot. We should sip it slowly' and 'Can Mrs Potts pour me some too?' There is enough variety in what she says and you are never sure what she is going to say next.

This has been a very successful gift for my daughter and already has brought many hours of enjoyment. I often overhear her having tea with Belle and really interacting with her as they have their drinks together - it really is delightful.

My one small gripe would have to be about the huge box she ws packaged in. It did look very attractive but I'm sure the manufacturers could have got her and all the crockery in a box half tht size. After all, we are all supposed to be that bit more environmentally aware! Also, as with most toys we had to spend about half an hour getting it out of the box and removing all the twisty bits before my daughter could play with her!

Having said this though, I'm really pleased we bought this doll for Natalie. She is almost four and seems to be the ideal age to get the most out of playing with her. I bought her from Toys R Us where she was on half price offer at £14.99 reduced from £29.99. This was really good value and definitely worth it. I would probably have paid the full price too although that does seem a bit expensive. However, I have just looked on Amazon where she is being sold for a whopping £42.99. It shows that it definitely pays to shop around!

overall this is a great doll and we definitely recommend it!
