I bought this for my daughter's 3rd birthday as she is Peppa pig mad. I paid £29.99 for it so I was expecting it to be good. It really is not.
I was so disappointed with the quality of the toy. In theory it is a good toy, it looks a lot like the Peppa pig house you seen on the programme and the little figures come with it. But in reality it is totally unsuitable for a young child as well as being poor quality.
The figures themselves are ok although I found the daddy pig toppled over a lot. The house is the real problem. My daughter was so excited to play with it and it is so upsetting to see that she can't play with it properly. The house when opened stands up so children can use role play with the figures. But this is not easy as the house is flimsy and continuously falls over knocking all the figures with it. The 2 floors slot into place but they easily fall out. The bed and bunk beds and bath are not suitable for the figures (they are too big to fit in them). The bunk beds have a plastic ladder attached to the end, this annoyingly falls off as soon as my daughter touches to the bed. As annoying as that is it would not be so bad if the ladder was child friendly and she could slot it back on herself but it is not, even I have trouble reattaching the ladder.
The house comes with a playmat that you put the house on top, this playmat has already broken as it is only a piece of cardboard. The stairs for the house do not attach to the house so they end up moving around which frustrates my daughter.
Being an official Peppa pig brand and being aimed at children and especially for the price that it is, I was expecting a decent toy my daughter could enjoy. But it is not. I would NOT recommend this to anyone it is a waste of money and is very disappointing.
A lovely toy suitable for age 3 plus and a huge hit for any Peppa Pig fans out there. My daughter received this for Christmas (she's two and a half) and absolutely loves it, as does her big sister who is almost six! At £34.99, the RRP is a bit steep but you can usually get this for around half the price when on offer and the price seems to have dropped now that Princess Peppa's Castle is available. Readily available in most toy shops and lots of online retailers too. The actual playhouse folds away storing the usual Peppa Pig/George etc figures and furniture inside keeping them safe. I found it a bit fiddly to fit the stairs in place and also to close up (the floor and roof have to be put a certain way) but when you get the hang of it, it's fine. A great toy that does not require constant new batteries and is easily set up, put away and once closed up, can also be transported easily to friends or grandma's house.
My daughter got this for Christmas so Im unsure of the RRP but I have come across them online for £35 plus. Personally I would never pay that much for this toy but if you can find one half price it is probably worth it to see the look of excitement on your childs face.
Both my 2 loved this at first and now its more my son (1) who plays with it.
The house: It comes with a fair few accessories inlcuding purple sofa and armchair, tv set, Bunk beds and ladder, bathtub, table and 4 chairs, staircase that comes off and also a full family. The family in this one has attathed legs at the bottom making them easier to stand up !
The house is decorated like in the programme and I think the novelty factor of this makes it a great toy for the kids but there are a few things that annoy me with it.
The house all folds back together-making sure there is nothing in the way of the walls or it wont close but once you have it closed it has a turny lock on the roof to keep it closed and both my children struggle to open it half the time they chase me round carrying the house for me to open it! The stair case I find a nightmare to attach as you have to lift the upstairs floor up to slot in into about 6 holes all the way down on side -its very easy to come off but difficult to put back on.
Also the upstairs floors-bathroom and Peppa and Georges room- come off and are very easy to knock off, They are only slotted into a ridge along the back wall and clipped in so not something a 1 year old can fix himself. Also the bunk beds ladder is not permently attatched to the beds it kind of slots in 2 small gaps and kind of balances-not very well only takes my 3 year old to pick it up and its off!
Its great looking, accessories are good and you get a full (Standing) family but the downsides so outweigh the good things I personally feel as kids get very frustrated easily when things fall off and its not easy for them to put back on.
My 2 year old daughter received this for Christmas, much to her delight. I, too, was very pleased she had received it, as she is mad about Peppa Pig, and I was sure she would really enjoy it. It is an exact replica of the house you see on the Peppa Pig television programme, complete with some nice items of furniture to stimulate role play and imagination.
Unfortunately, this toy has many flaws.
The house itself is made of rather flimsy plastic and I'm sure one of these days it is going to crack. The upstairs floors are two detachable slabs of slightly heavier plastic and detachable they are ... constantly. We can only just get them to stay in place but as soon as an item or furniture is placed upon them they come tumbling down. The stairs are also detachable and it takes a lot of fiddling about to try and get the whole thing to remain upright and in place. Its a bit of a disaster really. On top of this Daddy Pig refuses to stay standing up. All these things combined in a toy which is made for a young child just isn't acceptable. It is upsetting to hear my daughter's cries of frustration when really there is no need for it - if only the toy was made properly in the first place.
Nevertheless, she still adores her Peppa Pig house and plays with it most days, albeit sadly without the upstairs floors attached. It is disappointing that she has to do this but there isn't much else I can do. I tried supergluing the floors in place but after a couple of days of play they fell down again.
My Daughter is mad on Peppa pig and as she is only two i wondered how she would be with some of the Peppa toys.
So at Christmas me and my Husband went looking for something to buy her, We came across the Peppa Pig house as she is only two I thought this would be a great first dolls house to give her.
We got this at Toys r Us for £19.99 so we thought it was a bargin as you get all the figures of Mummy pig, Daddy pig, Peppa and George plus it came with furniture.
On christmas morning my daughter open the house she was very excited and the look you could not buy. Since then she has played with this house nearly everyday.
I think for a child about 2-3 years old would get the most out of this as the house folds up so they can carry it around the house or take to others very easy. All the extras are big too no need to worry about little bits falling off. I do think if the child is older than 3 years old they may get bored with the house very quickly as the house does not do much in itself.
All in all thou i think this is a great first playhouse for toddlers
I bought this playhouse for my little girl for her third birthday and she was delighted with it. The bits you get are easily recognisable from watching Peppa Pig on the telly and she really enjoyed setting up the rooms the same as she had seen them on the programme! I like it because it is easy to pack up and take away with you - ours has been to Grandmas house and on holiday with us, the parts are versatile enough that she didn't get bored of it during a very wet week in wales! The only downside to it is that although it is robust enough to stand up to my very careful three year old it did struggle with my friends 2.5 year olds enthusiastic playing style! so if you have more than one little one it may be worth thinking about whether it will stand up to rough play as the plastic is relativley flimsy. Apart from that I think it is good value for money due to the amount of accessories you get with it and it certainly has created hours of peaceful playing in our house!

Peppa Pig Playhouse
As you will properly see from my other reviews my children are big peppa pig fan and have quite a few of the peppa pig toys.
I thought this house would go well with all there other items. I paid £30 for the house maybe you could get it cheaper but I could not find it cheaper as it was just before Christmas I brought it.
This house looks just like peppa pigs house in the TV program. It is about 30 cm high and is hinged at the side and it opens out to about 30cm. This means all the items can be put in to the house and then the house can be carried around, great for taking to grandma's house.
Once open the house has two detachable shelf's that act as the bathroom and peppa and Georges bed room. To get to these rooms you get a flight of stairs to attach on. These where what I thought were the week points of the product, the shelf didn't stay in place very well with a heavy handed 3 year old and I did get a bit fed up being asked to fix it.
The house comes with a table and chairs, sofa, air chair, TV, peppa and Georges bunk bed and a bath. The figures that came with this house are Peppa pig, George, Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig.
My children like there house but most of the time they tend to just play with all the items you get with the house on the floor instead of in the house.
I think this house would be so much better if the shelf's in the house per a permanent fixture.
Whilst we were looking around a while ago to get my daughter some Peppa Pig toys, my five year old niece kindly agreed to let us borrow her Peppa Pig carry house. I couldn't make my mind up whether I wanted to spend the money on this or whether my daughter was a bit too young for it, so to get it on loan for a while was great.
The Peppa Pig house comes in a hinged design to be able to close the house and carry it around using the detachable handle on the roof. The concept is a great idea. Sort of like a mini dolls house that won't take up a lot of room and can be transported easily when needed.
As we set the house up I realised there were quite a few smaller pieces of furniture in the house. This was fine as the toy is recommended for children over three years old so I would just have to be extra careful with my two year old to make sure she didn't try to eat the furniture.
The house is colour co-ordinated to look just like Peppa's proper house that sits on the hill. It's also done in decent housey colours of yellow and red. The house itself is about 30 centimetres high and when opened up spans almost the same width.
The idea is to open the house and set up the two detachable shelves you get to act as a second floor for the bedrooms, which having the downstairs furniture on the ground floor. Obviously this needs to be played with on a flat surface otherwise you find the house topples over every two minutes.
There is a staircase included which you can position where you like to enable the characters to travel up and down stairs through the play experience.
I thought there was a decent amount of furniture included in the house including four character toys, sofa, chair, table, smaller chairs, bath, bunk beds and covers. This was plenty to be able to play house with the characters for ages.
Each piece of furniture appeared well made and sturdy. There aren't any fiddly bits on any of the furniture which is nice for little hands which are just learning to look after their toys, the last thing they need is to break something by accident because it's not made well.
I found my daughter was intrigued by playing with this house, but it didn't keep her attention for very long. I think this was because she is too young for it at the moment, as my niece has had hours of fun with it for a couple of years now.
Of course I had to have a play with it to test out the pieces. I liked the way the larger pieces of furniture are chunky, but what let it down are the small chairs as I found them to be quite small, especially when trying to get the characters to sit on them.
As I mentioned when play has finished the house can be folded away with the furniture inside. This appears to be a fine art to be able to get it all to fit as I couldn't get the bunk beds in for the life of me, but my niece showed me a good way. Personally I could see some of the furniture staying outside for ease if this was in my house permanently.
The house closes with a little catch on the side of the house and it really does look neat and tidy when placed away.
With a price tag of around £15, this house is a good alternative to a dolls house if you're limited on space, but I really would suggest waiting until the child is over three years old to be able to cope with the small pieces of furniture.
I bought this for my son for his 3rd birthday as he loves peppa pig. I paid abour £20 for it and is available in most toy shops. After taking out the packaging and putting together which was easy i was very dissapponted with the quality. The house is very flimsy plastic which opens up and 2 floors can be slotted into the house. There is also 4 peppa pig characters included and some furniture - sofa, table, tv, chair, table and chairs, bath, bunkbeds and staircase.
I watched my son playing with the house and noticed that it kept falling backwards all the time! As soon as any pressure is put on it, it topples over. The floors also fell off easily and are very narrow so the furniture only just fits onto them. The characters can not actually go in the house as its not big enough and the downstairs dosent actually have any floor to put the furniture! There was a playmat included which soon got creased and torn as it was not very good quality. I assumed it would all be able to be kept in the house then put away but the house dosent close unless its practically empty!
I wouldnt waste your money on this, ours has been delagated to the bottom of the toybox! A lot of improvements need to be made to make it worth £20, you are basically paying for the peppa pig brand. I dont know if the deluxe version is any better? A very bad buy.
My three year old is an avid Peppa Pig fan, so this playhouse with characters seemed like the ideal birthday present. I paid £19.99 from Woolworths, and this included a house with handle, several characters, a playmat and some furniture. It was soon apparent that this toy has a problem. It is very, very flimsy and unsuitable for children of an age that Peppa Pig is marketed at. Once the house is stood up any amount of pressure from the child knocks it over. The upper floors slot in and are so narrow it is so hard for a young child to balance any of the furniture on them and whilst the child is attempting this balancing act inevitably the house falls over and ruins the game. This problem resulted in my daughter becoming very frustrated and unable to engage into any constructive play, other than a little with the characters that came with it, which also refused to stand up without being balanced. The mat that comes with the toy is only made of thin card and so has a limited life expectancy, and the handle is pointless as it is virtually impossible to fit all the pieces into the house to fold it up and carry it away. Overall I would advise any prospective buyers to steer clear of this product unless they have very patient children!
This is so disappointing. My little girls love peppa pig so when I saw this for only £9.99 I thought it was a great buy. There is a reason why it was half price....because it's one of the worst toys ever made, and they were about to bring out a new and improved playhouse. I have no idea what the new deluxe playhouse that came out in 2008 is like but the original playhouse is awful. It falls over constantly, the stairs don't attach, the handle comes off the floor space upstairs is rubbish, there is barely enough room for the figures to stand (particularly daddy pig) This toys saving grace is the furniture and figures. You get loads of fantastic little bits, like a tv, bunk beds even cute little fabric duvets for peppa and george. And the figures are lovely and btw make excellent cake toppers! The only problem with the figures is that they have a little base on the bottom which does make them easy to stand but they dont fit on the furniture. All in all a very frustrating toy that I would not recommend for 18 months+ as it is just to fiddly. Older children will benefit from all the little bits included and my kids use the figures in imaginative play daily....in their game peppa and family moved in to the girls old doll house. Wise move.
My daughter went through a prase of peppa pig, everything she saw she wanted. and when this was advertised she just had to have it.
I managed to keep her waiting and got it for her at christmas last year when I saw it reduced to £14.99 in Argos. . .Bargain!
It is neatly compact, folds flat for easy storage and has great assesories like bunk beds with the blankets, chairs ect.
I found that the section dividing upstairs from down stairs was difficult to keep in place and so kept falling out.
Also the small pieces are difficult to keep together and half of them have now been lost.
This palyset was fine at first, my daughter loved it because it was peppa pig but after a while she became bored of it and it has hardly been played with since, My younger son has since taken an interst to it but again has become bored very quickly.
At first the Peppa Pig house is great, both my two girls loved playing with it. I would say that there are lots of little bit to it such as the blankets and chairs that can easily be lost. over time it is a challenge to keep all the parts together and not loss them. the upstairs does not seem deep enough to get the items on and be able to play with them upstairs. It is really great to start with but after a while it does not seem as good. Must sayt hat my kids love it and enjoy playing with it though just because it is Peppa Pig.
The good thing about it is how much stuff you actually get with the house, but it has so many small fiddly items with it.
It got lots and lots of use in my household.
Some times the younger child gets frustraited at trying to get the characters into the chairs but overall good value for money
peppa pig deluxe playhouse... first impressions is that it looks fantastic!
i think the price is quite high though and im sure i paid less then £24.00.
My little girl loves peppa and was very excited to have this.
The set consists of... 1 peppa pig house, a detachable handle, a staircase, bunk beds + ladder, blankets for each bunk, sofa, chair, table and 4 small chairs, a tv, peppa pig, george - holding dinosar, daddy pig and mummy pig, bath and a cardboard floor layout.
I like the idea of a play peppa pig house but unfortunatly i think this could have been designed better.
The first fault is that when stood up it is hard to put the little acessories in and play with because it falls over very easily. I dont like that all the peices fit in except the staircase... and also not keen on all the small parts that are easily lost. The last thing i find is that my daughter gets fustrated because the figures are really hard to balance on the furniture.
However my daughter does love this set and plays with it often even though it is a year old.
Peppa Pig Playhouse is a delightful playset contains many accessories - furniture and stairs, Peppa, George, Mummy pig & Daddy pig. Includes detachable handle, so you can pack up & go!
