Cup Cake Doll's Outfit
Advantages: Good quality, looks nice
Disadvantages: Probably expensive for what it is
I received a parcel just before my daughters third birthday containing her birthday and Christmas presents from her nan and granddad up country. One of the birthday presents was this Cupcake outfit.
The Cupcake outfit is available to purchase from Early Learning Centre, either in store or online and just like other ELC products, can be found at Mothercare and Amazon too. I'm not too sure how much the outfit costs but imagine it will be around £10 to £15.
This outfit is part of the Cupcake range that Early Learning Centre sell so is suitable to use with the Cupcake dolls. After seeing the range in store, I noticed the dolls that make up the range vary in size so it's worth making sure that it will fit the Cupcake dolls you have before purchasing. My daughter also received the Cupcake giggling Lucy doll for her birthday and the size of the outfit is perfect and fits her like a glove. The smaller Cupcake dolls will definitely be too small for the outfit.
The outfit comes packaged in transparent plastic packaging with a small slip of cardboard featuring the product information. Inside the packaging, the outfit is hanging on a plastic coat hanger. I thought this was a nice touch but ever since opening the packaging we haven't used the coat hanger since as my daughter has a small box for all of her dolls accessories and clothes so it gets put in there.
The outfit comes in three pieces, trousers, a top and a headband. These pieces are all coordinating in a mainly bright pink colour. The trousers are basic and totally pink in colour, these stay up on the doll by a piece of elastic around the waistband. The top looks a bit like a sports hoodie with two blue toggles that hang down, there is a polka dot design with a picture of a cherry completing the top. The top does up with a little bit of Velcro on the back. The headband is the same bright pink colour and features a bow on the front to give it a little more detail.
My daughter prefers her Cupcake doll in this outfit to the plain baby grow outfit it came in. She was going through a stage of taking all of her dolls clothes off and putting them on again but with the Cupcake doll this was the outfit that was always put back on. At three years old, she doesn't have any trouble dressing the doll in these clothes and can get the top over the head and arms in the right holes without any problems. The one thing that does let the outfit down is the headband as you have to position it in the exact spot or it tends to ping right back off of the dolls head.
As I don't know the exact price, I can't tell you whether or not I think it offers good value for money but I can tell you I wouldn't pay any more than £10 for it as, at the end of the day, it is just an outfit for a doll. The material is made to a high quality and it fits a few of the dolls from the same collection very well. I would definitely check if it fits your dolls before buying as it is quite large. My daughter keeps her Cupcake doll in this outfit so it shows she loves it.
Summary: Lovely outfit for Cupcake dolls
