Like just about every little girl I'm sure, my daughter loves babies and in particular all the dolls that she has. We always have to make sure we don't forget to leave the house without big baby, or pink baby, or ballerina baby, whichever one takes her fancy that day. She is nearly three and I would say within the last six to nine months she has really gotten into dolls in a big way. She loves to feed them and change their clothes and she also loves to put them to sleep. It's actually really cute because she will come out of her room and tell us to be quiet and goes sshhh, baby is sleeping. Then, a few minutes later she says,"oh, baby is crying," and goes in to get her up from her cot. Very cute and I love that she has this lovely sweet caring nature about her.
Anyway, the cot that she has to put her dolls to sleep in is this one from the Cupckae range. I have a photo of my little girl with this cot if anyone wishes to see it or has any questions about it. The cot is wooden and I think this makes it look muchnicer than a plastic one and a lot more expensive than a plastic one too. We have this cot in my little girls room almost as part of her bedroom furniture as I think it looks nice enough to display. It was a present from her grandparents for her 2nd birthday and it took a few weeks for her to want to play with it but now like I've said above she is forever putting her babies to sleep in this and rocking them in it. The cot is able to rock back and forth as it is rounded on the bottom so its easy for her to pretend to rock her baby to sleep.
The cot has a pink headboard on either end of the cot and they are in the shape of a cupcake. I like that this is a design feature of the cot as it is in keeping with the name and also makes it quite cute and girly. There is also the cupcake brand symbol on each headboard so you know where this toy is from. The headboard cupcake is a darker pink on bottom and then a lighter pink colour on the top and to separate them both is a wiggly line to make it look like the top and bottom of a cupcake. The sides of the cot are white which are lower than the headboard and they have slits in them on each side so they work like handles. This enables you to pick the cot up and move it if you wish. I find this quite a heavy cot and don't really let my little girl pick it up as its too heavy for her so I move it or my husband moves it if we need to but it usually just stays in one place in her room. She can move it by pushing it if she wishes but it is a bit heavy, probably because it is made of solid wood.
The cot also comes with a pillow and a blanket in the cupcake spots design. If you have other products from this range you will know the design I am talking about it or you can see it in my photograph if you wish. The blankets are not that nice in my opinion, a bit nlyonish and not very plush or exciting but my little girl likes them and loves tucking her babies under them so I guess they are fine for her. The cot is rather large and will hold the big Cupcake baby dolls and of course you can put little dolls in it if you wish too.
My only criticism is that it looks a bit uncomfortable. It's nothing I would like to sleep in and I certainly wouldn't have put one of my babies in it as it is way to wooden and hard but then its only a toy so I guess that point really doesn't matter.
A fun addition to the Cupcake doll range.
