“ Manufacturer: Danbury Mint / Type: Doll „
As you're no doubt aware, I'm an avid collector of Betty Boop figurines and I only wish I could upload some photographs onto Dooyoo to show you how stunning they look in my four Ikea display cabinets. The figurine I am reviewing today has been made exclusively for Danbury Mint by the owners of the Betty Boop Trademark, namely Hearst Holdings Inc and was a present from my husband for our 4th wedding anniversary in April of this year. Unfortunately, the photograph above does not do this figurine justice, so I will do my very best to describe this stunning collectable. Betty is hand painted and manufactured from porcelain and proudly stands at 16 inches high. On the underside of her right foot is a long metal pin, which fits safely and securely into the 13 cm diameter black base. Her left leg is angled and poised in front of her as she gets ready to dance the Charleston. Her arms are moveable and my doll has been positioned as in the picture with her left arm outstretched to her left hand side and her right arm pointing in the same direction. Betty is dressed as a traditional flapper and wears a beautiful blue shift dress where the tightly fitting bodice is encrusted with dozens of tiny silver studs. The lower section of the bodice reaches below Betty's waist wear we see the gorgeous black silk skirt section, which has wire within the hem to enable it to stand out. Resting neatly on Betty's hips are two rows of white pearls, which have been adorned on the left hand side with a golden coloured flower with a tiny crystal in its' centre. I've only just realised that this section still had the protective cellophane on it from when it was initially purchased!! There are dozens of pieces of cord attached to the underside of the bodice; each of which has been adorned with a tiny pearl on the end and starched to make them stand out. Betty wears several rows of white pearls around her tiny neck and there are three tiny bangle style bracelets on her left wrist. One bracelet is gold, another blue and the third resembles that of a row of tiny sparkling diamonds. To complete her jewellery, Betty wears a pair of golden dangling earrings; each of which has six sparkling diamante stones. The majority of the Danbury Mint figurines display Betty wearing a white-laced garter adorned with a pretty red heart and this figurine is no exception. The attention to detail is simply superb as she even wears a pair of tiny black bikini briefs. Betty wears a stunning fawn coloured headband, which has been edged in blue and is decorated with tiny silver studs to match those on her bodice. The side of her headband displays an oval shaped decoration with the initials "B.B" and sprouting from the top are two stunning blue and white feathers. Betty is a lady who clearly loves her shoes and this figurine shows her wearing a pair of high-heeled black shoes, which were typically worn by those women who danced the Charleston. You can purchase this stunning figurine from the UK Danbury Mint website or by telephoning their customer services. She will cost you £111 plus £4 postage and packing and can either be paid in full or by four interest-free monthly instalments of £27.75 each plus £1 postage and packing. Your figurine will be despatched by courier and extremely well packed where you will find individual packages containing her tiny bangles and necklaces; all of which you will need to delicately place on your doll. You will also receive a certificate of authenticity providing you with details of your collectable and advice on how to clean her. Due to the attention to detail and the fact that this figurine is simply stunning, she receives a full 5 out of 5 dooyoo stars from me. I hope you found my review useful and would thank you for reading.
