“ Manufacturer: Danbury Mint / Type: Doll „
For those of you who have been following my reviews, you'll be aware that over the last few days, I have been reviewing some of my gorgeous figurines designed and manufactured by Danbury Mint.
Whilst using text from a previous review is not normally acceptable, I feel it is appropriate in this case to use a small amount in order for me to inform you of Danbury Mint who are one of the most successful distributors of fine collectables. They were initially launched in Connecticut in 1969 by Ted Stanley and opened their offices in London in 1976. As their vast range of unusual collectables are exclusive, you will not be able to purchase them elsewhere.
If you enjoy collecting, there is bound to be something on their website to suit your taste, such as fighter planes, Nelson memorabilia, London taxi cabs and buses, vintage cars, plates, Disney and of course, my favourite, Betty Boop!
The figurine I am reviewing today is the hand painted Mystic Betty who proudly stands at just over 15 inches high on her circular wooden base. As with all of Danbury Mint figurines, this is totally breath-taking, as Betty is manufactured from porcelain and wears the most stunning clothes.
Her purple skirt is made from a gorgeous silken fabric and adorned with dozens of stars and moons to match her fortune-telling image. Her underskirt contrasts the outer skirt with its' colourful stripes and underneath you will discover her pretty heart garter. She wears high-heeled black boots; each of which is decorated with a golden chain.
She is dressed in a pretty white blouse that pulls in tightly around her tiny waste to show off her beautiful black bodice, which is tied with red cord. She has a pretty blue scarf head dress, which is edged with a golden chain to match that on her sexy boots. To complete the look, Betty displays dangly earrings, bracelets and necklaces and is ready to start telling your fortune with the crystal ball that rests neatly in her opened hand.
As with all of the large figurines from Danbury Mint, each piece of jewellery is separately wrapped where you need to carefully place them on your figurine.
Betty has a metal pin extending from the underside of each of her boots, which fit securely into the wooden base in order for you to safely display her.
As with all of Danbury Mint figurines, no attention to detail has been spared, as the designer has thought of absolutely everything down to the 12 signs of the zodiac, which are perfectly painted on her base.
Danbury Mint take special care in ensuring your figurine reaches you in first class condition as you will find each collectable perfectly and beautifully wrapped. Betty will be despatched to you by courier where you will find she has been protected with sculptured polystyrene. A collector's card will accompany your figurine, which gives you details of your collectable and instructions on how to clean her and I carefully dust mine every few weeks.
This figurine will cost you £138 plus £8 postage and handling and can be spread over four interest free monthly instalments. You can choose to pay by several methods, such as cheque, debit or credit card.
A staff member at Danbury Mint customer services has informed me that their courier picks up their parcels on a Friday, so you will find that if you are ordering on a Monday you may have a little wait before you receive your collectable. However, the longest I have ever had to wait for my parcel is up to two weeks, with the fastest despatch being only three days.
You can either order on-line using the safe payment method, which is identified by the well-known padlock in the lower right hand corner of your screen or your can place your order over the telephone with one of the extremely helpful customer service staff.
This is yet another superb creation by Danbury Mint and perfect for any Betty Boop collector. Whilst the prices are somewhat high, in my opinion, the figurines are worth the money as every intricate detail has been carefully thought through. I also feel these pieces are an investment, particularly as they are exclusive to Danbury Mint and some are limited editions.
Consequently, the Danbury Mint Mystic Betty Boop receives 5 out of 5 dooyoo stars from me, as she is simply exquisite.
I intend reviewing some more of my figurines over the next few days, so I hope I'm not going to bore you!
I hope you found my review useful and I would thank you for
